I think its weird that I haven't heard anyone that I know actually talking about this :p

I'll try to get to watching this over the holiday period, then I'll have a firm opinion on the subject. As for now I can only say that Seaworld can certainly do things to make their policy better and that they are at fault somewhat. We are theme park fans here, but we cannot be completely biased here. I gurantee you at least 40% of the things in the documentary are true.

Basically, don't let your love of theme parks not let you consider both sides of the story.

On what basis did you come up with the number 40%?

My opinion is not biased by my being a fan. Quite the reverse. I am, in part, a fan based on what I have observed and learned on numerous behind the scenes tours.

This was just posted by .38 Special's Facebook manager/moderator to the band's official Facebook page:

I am DONE!!!!! You people win. Some of you zealots have now managed to convince a relative of Shane that I and the band have chosen to use him as some kind of ploy or diversion. I posted his picture and story on VETERANS day to honor a TRUE hero and have spent the past few days DEFENDING him from people who have no respect or class and chose HIS post area to fight their battle against Seaworld.

How low can you people get??????? Obviously lower that I ever imagined you could go.

So you win. I have contacted the band and told them that I am done. I hope you are proud of yourselves for what you have done to the memory of Shane Patton.

I think he posted something about a veteran in the middle of all the SeaWorld stuff that's being thrown at the page and he got super irritated when it didn't stop. Sounds like the page moderator just ragequit.

From what I gathered he posted a photo of a veteran on the band's facebook page and people decided to bash the band about SWO in the comment section and a cousin of the veteran was convinced they used his picture as a distraction from the SWO deal.

After glancing at that page, I am just blown away, especially since SWO's FB doesn't have any spam whatsoever.

These are some crazy people.

SWO's Facebook page has multiple moderators, that are keeping the trolls out, like a bunch of mosquitos at dusk.

But yea I have to agree with the moderator of that band's page, attacking SWO on a memorial is vicious, rude, and ridiculous. Did the band drop out yet because of that?

A true loyal fan only really care as about the music. What the artist does should not be an issue. For example, I absolutely hate Miley Cyrus' decisions. I feel she is just ruining herself. However, I will admit I do like quite a few of her songs. They've helped me through tough times before. And I will always continue to listen to them regardless of what she does or where she plays because the songs themselves are really good by themselves.

.38 Special is out.

.38 Special's Facebook Page said:
Due to concerns raised by the CNN documentary "Blackfish," 38 Special will be canceling its scheduled March 9th concert at Seaworld. We appreciate the outpouring of support and especially apologize to our Orlando fans. We will try and schedule another performance in your area in the near future.
The band wishes everyone a happy holiday season and look forward to seeing you all again in 2014.

Plus, as expected, Justin Moore's and Scotty McCreery's Facebook pages are, once again, being hit harder than ever. For those of you not keeping track at home, they're the last two announced musicians performing at Bands, Brew & BBQ- an event that's supposed to begin on February 1st and run for 12 weekends.

The Scotty McCreery deal is interesting since he already has performed at BGW. So he has a working relationship with the company. And honestly, he wouldn't receive as much grief for playing IMO because his fan base isn't as full of whale loving hipsters like most of the others.

In other words, he can pull it off.

I wonder how our concert series is going to play out? Hopefully the brainwashed whale lovers won't start attacking any other parks' scheduled bands because of association with SeaWorld.:-/

I really hope Scotty McCreery stays in, and frankly anyone who stays in, I will definitely thank them for what they did to stay out of all that mess, and just bring entertainment to their fans.

The connect has been made by a few people, but you really don't see the parks names together too often, unless you look at the company logo, or the occasional Shamu plush doll in a BG gift shop.
