The last concert in Festhaus Park for the 2011 season will be
Ramp Jam. After that all concerts will be in the Royal Palace Theater. Festhaus Park will be used for roller coaster construction and eventually the Festhaus Park will be regraded for a better concert venue in future seasons.

Yep thats what is happening. Construction won't be starting that early. The last thing in Festhaus Park is in April and there isn't another event till June so this makes sense. Griffon started construction in July of 2006 so for this coaster to begin construction in May or June makes perfect sense. I am curious though how this will affect HOS.

Yeah, there won't actually be ANY musical acts in Festhaus Park this season.

I'd much rather see a concert in the RPT anyway- even if I do have to get there an hour early.

I'm probably one of the few people who'd prefer Festhaus Park over RPT. But that's only if it's an act I'd enjoy. I hated when I would have to navigate around people who would plop down their $10 chairs 10 feet away from the stage and then end up not using them, or then complaining about the people who chose to stand. To quote The National, a venue in Richmond:

We recommend standing for a wide variety of reasons – you can dance, you look taller, you’ll have a better view of the stage and any potential new friends you might try to make during the show, it’s good exercise and its just cooler.

Dancing in your seat at the RPT may be kinda hard, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

It's about time they started holding concerts in the theaters. WAY more comfortable and manageable. Especially with kids. The current lineup stinks except Pat (personal opinion). Worse, she's scheduled for dates AFTER Illuminights ends! LOL. As much as I've always wanted to see Pat, I won't be able to make it because of the date. Stink.

The amphitheaters in Va Beach and Portsmouth both do alright with seats and they used to do all of the in park concerts in the RPT. Think of it as a throwback season.

^Yeah, like I said, it kinda goes back to personal preference. For me having fun > comfort. I guess it's just that with the kinda music I listen to (punk), a seated venue would not work, but while it would be fine with the kind of music Busch puts on.(Unless they get an act like Switchfoot again.) I also do prefer Festhaus Park because if you want a good spot to take pictures (w/o a photo/media pass.), you don't have to get there really early, but you can just work your way to the front, and you're not restricted to the seat you end up with.

Switchfoot is weird. one of those Genre hopping bands. I think alot of people like some of their songs, but don't think they have many "hardcore" fans.

Did anyone go to any of the concerts over the weekend. I plan on seeing Casting Crowns this Saturday and I have a couple of questions about how it will work in RPT. Which entrace will they let people in and around what time. Also, where are the VIP seats, I dont want to go in there hoping to get a certin seat and find out it is taken.
