As much as I would love to see more rock and metal, I highly doubt busch will be trying to appeal to those auidences, even thought there are tons of good wholesome family friendly metal bands out there that would appeal to people of all ages and demographics...(Lacuna coil!!!!!)

Swifty, WE NEED DAFT!

Otherwise, Pat Benetar is now on the slate.

If Daft Punk performed at Busch, it would be a dream come true, but I doubt it would ever happen. Someone like Binärpilot would be a more likely candidate. (Yes, he really does give all of his music out for free. And yes, it is really good.)

Seriously... Man... You just said that rock and metal as a genre is the worse stuff you've ever heard. You have alot of extreme opinions....

Scoutn, you need to realize that not everyone has the same opinions and tastes as you. I personally can't stand the junk spewing out of Eminem's and Lady Gaga's cake holes but I don't go around attacking people for liking them. (At least not on the Internet.) I don't like Daft Punk either but I didn't attack you or Swiftman for suggesting them as a BGW concert act, did I?

Even though I know it won't happen, I would love it if Busch got The Gaslight Anthem. And I think they would fit in great at Busch too, their stuff is PG, they're not too big or too small (but their popularity is still growing.), they're somewhere in between the sound of Bruce Springsteen and Social Distortion, and...they're awesome.

Attacking and stating and opinion is two different things. I meant to edit rock out so that's my fault. You're right thought, Lady GaGa is a leech of humanity.

On topic, I wonder who else will be getting added as the weeks go on. Phil Collins is still too mainstream for us to get a chance at him. (Since Busch seems to be going on an older style music wise)

If you think all metal is that loud scream-o junk that's not true (that kind of metal I don't listen too). Some metal is actually pretty poetic and well performed.

Well, in that case, shoot me a PM with some of the non-screaming for their life artists and I'll give it a shot. My apologies on that note as well.

I think we need to have a quick lesson in music genres... I cant believe you just called screamo metal.... Prepare for an epic post of longness...

Normally I dont do much hardcore... A band has to be exceptional in this genre to grab my attention, such as:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_849RctCvI/

Hardcore is like hard rock with screamo vocals... Usually you can understand these guys better than you can:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9CnuqNKOYE&feature=related

Screamo... Which is technically the "hip" term for post hardcore is... well rather dumb if you ask me. I've found little bands (2 In all reality I think...) in this genre that can hold my attention for more than a few seconds... It's post hardcore because it takes alternative hard rock stylings with metalcore style breakdowns, (metalcore is a part of the Hardcore family tree) and puts them over even usually inane lyrics and even worse sounding screams and screeching. One of the few bands I can enjoy in the post hardcore family is(notice the different style guitar playing over post hardcore, and hardcore):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvYLQM_fMMw

There are tons of "core" bands out there... The newest genre which stems from hardcore, to "screamo", steals from metal and rap and pop and turns it into one big ugly stupid sounding mess is.... Crunkcore... Yes... It exist:

(warning VERY explicit content)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbg6lwq5yS4&feature=relmfu

You can thank hollywood undead for this...

None of the above guys should be given any affiliation with metal, It's not... It's connected to Hard rock

Metal on the other hand... Im not gonna try and break down the genres, but I'll offer you a sample of what I like, and some examples of some good songs with good growls and screams....

(The main point of this amazingly long and off mostly off topic post)
Lacuna Coil. Gothic metal band from Italy who also does hard rock and does an excellent job at blending the two styles. Gothic metal is, despite being called "Gothic" quite less grim and more melodic than other forms of metal, usually featuring mostly clean vocals and two lead vocalist, both mail and female.

I would love to see these guys in concert at busch, they make tons of poppy songs and general rock songs and all their content Is family appropriate(well everything I've heard from them anyway, they got alot of music out):

Opeth:

Considered metal Gods, these guys use an assortment of tactics and song styles, but they are overall metal. They dont use blatant idiotic screaming for no reason, rather they use it to evoke certain emotions in certain songs:

Now this isnt the most extreme metal song, but showcases how a MATURE metal band handles screaming, and highlights why I dont really take kindly to people calling metal outright screaming crap or w/e:

<sarcasm>
Can you believe it, this song is by the same band! :</sarcasm>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3e6G_YNO0Y

Industrial Metal:
Now the video I used as my example for this is by one of my favorite bands and ultimately the video that got me into them... scared the crap outta me the first time i saw it. :D

But anyways I also think these guys highlight how someone screaming in a song doesnt kill it, ruin it or mean they suck, or are dumb. Most metal acts(ones I respect anyway) dont use it as a gimmick to say "look how cool we are" but rather add it tastefully throughout their songs:

I appreciate the spell out. I'll go through it in between chapters of studying. I wanted a PM to keep this thread OT but this works too lol. Once I get through it I shall PM you.

Ok so I will say it LADY GAGA, but that will never happen...... I can dream

I don't think this post is going to go over very well... ;)

For the record: I hate Lady GaGa. Really, she scares me.

I dont mind her. Atleast she poses the talent to write and sing her own music. If you can do that atleast I have some respect for the artist. I do find a few of her songs listenable though.

Must... resist... rage...

Just kidding.

P.S. Swiftman, you're awesome!

@ Youhow: My favorite metal band is Metallica, I'm not sure what genre you would classify them as far as metal is concerned.
