Ah Eagle one... shorter than the train ride; but air conditioned that ended with two free beers. May it rest in peace.

Before any of you need to vote on this you need to go and ride everything in one day. I did it a few weeks ago and it was amazing. I forgot how fun some of those rides are and will be riding some more often. I hadn't been on the Turkish Delight since I was 6 and the Cradle for ages. After all that I would have to say that the best flat ride is Da Vinci's Cradle. If the drop tower turns out to be a bungee drop, It will definitely be my new favorite. ToT is my favorite flat ride period.

i get so sick/nauseous from da vinci's cradle. Every time I'm on it I am begging for it to end as soon as possible. :(

I'd have to make a case for Le Scoot:

-It's in a quiet isolated area, so it's a good break from the crowds.

-It's a water ride, but you typically don't get "soaked."

-It may be (?) the only ride where you are totally isolated. You get on by yourself or a friend and are completely independent of other riders. Which again is a nice break.

-It's a great ride to chill out a bit right between Griffon and Alpen.

-If it's under 85 degrees you can usually get right on, and they are very liberal with letting you ride multiple times in a row if there is a short line.

-You get a real "park history" feel from it, since it's an original ride and probably hasn't changed much since the park's opening (aside from the view of Alpengeist swooping over it of course).

All in all, I find it a very relaxing ride with a nice little drop/splash at the end. We ride it at least once almost every time we go.

Le Scoot if way up there on my list. It's a nice slow, peaceful ride that packs a nice punch at the end.

It was nicer with the saw on though.

I gotta say LeScoot as well. Classic elevated flumes are getting rare as hen's teeth these days. Nothing beats floating along at night and sneeking a smooch on your way to the sawmill.

I was terrified of the saw as a wee spit; but I kept getting on it because of the drop at the end. Before you can make the height requirement for coaster; there was always Le Scoot.

I actually like the swings too. The Sea Dragon was great Timmy.. I was upset when the park took out that one. Did you know the ride operator controlled the turns?

Mine is hands down the Sky Ride -- I love the "among the treetops" views really more than the 200'+ views from Griffon or AC and the like. I hate that the lines move so slowly and I DREAM of them finding some system of allowing continuous riding w/o having to get off at every station (but I would be just the nightmare type of rider the park is avoiding as I'm sure I could easily stay on for an hour at a time just chilling and taking in the sights).

But Darkastle is wonderful, and I love Le Scoot, and honestly I REALLY like Escape from Pompeii and rarely fail to ride it at least once during any park visit -- it is sort of a dark ride and I enjoy the music, the flames, etc. -- even though the special effects part is short, it is very enjoyable to me and the drop caps it off. As with Le Scoot and as others have said, I like that you get a little wet but not usually uncomfortably soaked.

The Katapult is the Scrambler, right? Generally, that is my fave flat ride at any park or fair. And I like BGW's version although I have to say in general I think BGW gives too short rides on their flats and also they don't crank up the intensity of rides like the Katapult much -- I've been whipped around lots better at many a state or county fair, lol, and I love it! But it's still a classic ride. Wish I could experience it indoors.

And while we're on the topic of non-coaster rides, gotta mention a pet peeve of mine: Flat ride snobbery:mad:! Posters on sites like TPI tend to be real snobs about what they call "off the shelf" flat rides, saying that no self-respecting theme park would have such generic objects of scorn anywhere on their properties. Well, I say a strong and stern, "poo on you" to that (yeah, I'm real hard core with my foul language) because as far as I'm concerned I don't want to go to a park that doesn't have the classics like a lovely carousel, a Scrambler, swings, skyride, Himalaya, tea cups, etc. These rides can be seriously fun and are great escapes when the lines for the big attractions are prohibitively long.

I really like the "Adventure" rides that are unique to Busch Gardens. My favorite non-coaster rides ate Curse of Darkastle, Escape from Pompeii and the now defunct Corkscrew Hill. I hope they add more attractions with a story in the future.

I always felt that BGE suffered from not having enough flats. I mean in terms of flats it's almost as bad, if not worse than Magic Mountain, but then again magic mountain had 17 rollercoasters which pretty much take up most of your day trying to conquer...

BGE needs more rides. But im not gonna go off on that rant today...

I think Darkastles first incarnation was the best ride at the park... I liked Pompeii before the addition of those dumb fountains. Now im the A-hole who gets $20 in quarters and sits at number one all day :D... I dunno. I guess Im just gonna go with Darkastle, though I feel it couldve been so much better effects wise, especially with it's price tag. BGE has all the classic flats, but it needs some more of the new.

I love escape from popeii and dark kastle so there pretty much tied but the train is my favorite, every time i get on i like to sit in the very front where those locking door things are. Alot of people dont know there allowed to sit there but its great cause when they blow the whistle the condensed water always falls back down on you.

How did you get that smilie ?

1. Click the "get more" button below the smilies box.
2. Scroll down till you see the hijacked smilie on the "get more" page.
3. Type the word next to the smilie on your post

It's basically "hijacked" but instead of " it's :

:hijacked: :p

So, once again I was looking through old discussions and came across this thread. I thought it was an interesting question.

It will probably not come as much of a surprise that my favorite ride that isn't a roller coaster is the Skyride. I have always enjoyed the relaxing in a gondola, chatting with my friends, and seeing the park from above.

Of course the views are gorgeous during CT and cool at HOS, but I love seeing the park from that vantage point during the regular season, as well. BGW is beautiful, and the height gives you a unique perspective.
