I take issue with the same thing jonesta6 said, VR doesn't add anything to the ride, since nothing happens anywhere else in the ride. Not even dumb visual gags.

But the biggest issue I have:
My head is too big for the kids helmet, and too small for the adults. So either everything is squeezing my brain to the point of headache or I have to hold up the mask just to see. Not to mention the helmet makes everyone look like ugly ninja turtle rejects.

I was in physical pain from the mask for several hours on Media Day. Like Applesauce, I have to use the children’s size, and it hurts. The second time I tried BfE, I put off donning the green plastic torture device until the last possible moment. I still found myself praying for the ride to end about halfway through.

Part of the problem is the mask, but story plays a role, as well. If I weren’t so bored, I might forget about the overwhelming desire to remove the headset. Unfortunately, the attraction simply isn’t in any way distracting for me.

So, for me, the VR, itself, is fine, if tedious. The mask, however, is like something found in the Marquis de Sade’s dungeon.

I really like the ride a lot more than people on here give it credit for. And yes PK, Ollie is a good boy.

Yeah, I thought it was fine. Didn't beckon for a re-ride, but no pain or discomfort and the mask fit just fine (though it looked incredibly stupid). The ride experience was positive -- if kinematically mild.

As the magnet-screen portion of the Emerald Facehugger is a bit heavy, I noticed many kids on the ride holding it up so it didn't sag down at all. I actually did the same thing, for ease of abrupt head movement rather than strict necessity. Time and technology hopefully will lead these screens to become lighter and thinner, in future iterations of VR tech... wherever it may be found.

In the year twoooo thoouuuuusandddddddd...

As others have pointed out the ride is rather tame. The height restriction I actually find shocking as I thought my 3 year old would have loved it.

The problem with a tech based ride like this is the speed at which tech evolves. In just a year or two the ride will feel super outdated on top of not being great to begin with.

So I agree with some of the other sentiment that they should already be planning for its replacement.

Sure, tech can be upgraded; but the costs of said upgrade will quickly equal or exceed the cost of the ride itself and still won't fix that the ride deck seems to have too little movement in it.

The well of Eire is sadly more accurately a pit that they'll have to keep shoveling money into to keep the ride feeling modern.

I rode this ride 3 times, all within the first month of it opening because I wanted to like it but I just can't and I doubt I'll ever ride it again. I like the idea of VR and when done right, it can be fascinating, but this isn't VR done right in my opinion.

The graphics aren't appealing. Like another poster said, it looks like video game graphics from the early-mid 2000s. The mask is insanely uncomfortable. It works if you have a well-proportioned face I suppose but I have a big nose and the bridge of my nose is always sore after essentially all that weight is pressed on my giant nose lol. My step brother has a fairly flat face so his mask puts a ton of pressure on his cheekbones. The story just doesn't do it for me either. It's way too simple and borderline infantile. This is coming from someone who enjoys video games like Mario and Animal Crossing over anything else so I'm not some stoic emotionless dude who wants the story to be like Game of Thrones or something. Those video games have special charm and polish that makes the simple plot and child-friendly narrative appealing which Battle For Eire lacks. I just had high hopes for something better after enjoying Corkscrew Hill and then being disappointed with EITA.

You have to give them the props for what they do,VR isnt something that every park is doing and its hard to work with when you have constant guests coming to the ride, they fixed it all from the setup and the waiting time.

Just because you should doesn’t mean you will.

And as we see in our executive leadership on a daily basis, just because you will doesn’t mean you can.

So there we are... full circle.

I see what you did there.

Rode this yesterday. We didn't have any technical issues other than sometimes being out of focus. The ride is decent but I'm a bit unimpressed... The technology just isn't there resolution wise and you're looking through a screen door. When they 4k goggles out then maybe I'll be impressed.

Also when you sit down it his telling you not to put on the headset but some time could have been saved by not doing that as everyone already had the plastic helmets on and the seatbelt doesn't take that long for everyone to do

It makes sense why they do it. Say someone doesn't buckle up and throws the headset on, it's slightly more of a pain in the ass for the attendant to remind them to buckle up, or if someone isn't buckled fully to have them double check.

There could be other reasons they do that though. That's just what I think makes the most sense.

Of course the most sensible move is just closing the ride and showing Pirates 4D but we don't see that happening.

I give those awards no merit...its beating out Toy Story Land......something with 3 attractions two of which are new, a quick service dining, character meets, gift shops and bathrooms for BfE.....no way.

Anyhow......BfE days are numbered.

Uh, yeah.. how does toy story land rate lower than BfE?

To go into more detail:

That should never have existed as a poll. To get accurate data, the people polled would have needed to have experienced each of those new attractions last year. And even if you only polled those persons, the type of person who has the time/budget/interest to have visited each of those is an extremely narrow demographic.

In short, it is impossible to poll people on a broad range of park additions.

A poll for rides within a park, or comparing nearby parks (bgw and kd, and/or HP for instance) is a lot more realistic.
