I think that this is more accurate to the real globe theater from the 1500s. Shakespeare had mojo! :p

Here are some other buildings near the Coke Market.  The windows aren't exactly the same, but they wouldn't be in real life either.  I think the have a similar feel:

So, just to get things straight, the paint on the Globe will most likely be just for the first few weeks it premiers, before it gets just a regular sign? If so, phew, at least I won't have to suffer looking at that for the rest of the season.

I find it odd how everybody seems to focus on cables for flags but when cable pops up for HOS and CMT, everyone ignores it. Honestly, I think it is nice they are putting effort into really promoting this show. I believe that they should promote everything to the extent and more than what they are doing for this show. I can only hope this is a sign that they are stepping up their game as far as actually promoting their new attractions, shows, and whatever that is new.

In park promoting will get them no where. It's the out if park promoting around Va, Maryland, North Carolina. Everything is under Scotts belt here. This basically had zero effect on the marketing deptarment.

But it will get them somewhere. It helps to promote inside the park to actually get people to be more interested if they weren't before. Yes actual marketing outside of the park needs to be done; however, the in-park theming is important too. Note that I never said it was the marketing department.

Considering the park has a lot of LR advertisements in the park already, the park has let all current visitors know about the show already.  The money spent on butchering the globe could have bought some radio ads or something.

I don't really think you quite understand the money flow. Entertainment already had the money budgeted for them since the season started, if anything the money was cut back. These budgets are all said and done unless cuts have to be made. Marketing could have blown their budget on whatever it is they actually do. Blame them for their poor choice in where to send their money.

Entertainment on the other hand used their money to at least use in-park decorations to help excite and engage guests for the show. I may not like it, you may not like it, most park enthusiasts may not like it. The point is, there are people out there who do find it interesting to say the least. I think it does a great job at drawing in the attention of people who are just visiting for the first time this year. Remember, it is still early on and people have yet to visit the park this year. Just because we as fans may visit every weekend or frequently, does not mean many others do.  There are still many people walking through those gates who have yet to learn what is going on.

You just hit what the real problem is, whether you realize it or not. The park is treating LR as a brand new coaster in that they are treating it as something that will bring in people to the park. The show is huge, bigger than anything the park had done, and considering ever gotten a new show for the past few years and attendance has been falling, then the park needs to stop spending money on things that aren't bringing in people.

Entertainment has way too much money for its silly pet projects, regardless of how the money is divided up, that money spent on defacing the Globe could have been used outside the park, where it's desperately needed.
