I would have to wonder if FreeStyle Machines would have $.99 refills.

Part of my position requires me overseeing our Vending Department and doing repairs to machines and our Soda fountains. When it's a more involved repair our Vendor Service Rep's come in. Had a interesting conversation with the Coke Service Technician over last summer.

The Coke Vending Service technician that comes to the Medical Center where I work has an extensive service area that includes Busch Gardens as it happens.

He was part of the install crew that placed all of the Coke Fountains, glass front coolers etc at Busch gardens.

According to him there is A monthly lease fee plus the cost of product for the Freestyle Machines. So to recoup that fee higher refill costs COULD be coming as a result.

And I stress COULD. Busch Gardens is such a huge account I could see the leasing fees being reduced or eliminated all together so no price increase would be necessary.

A standard soda fountain setup that Coke provides for us to use here has no leasing fee, just the cost of product.

Just my thoughts.

I have heard that there may be more to this renovation later in the year.
From the press release: "The show’s theme will eventually extend to the surrounding England village to create an immersive London experience for guests as they enter the park."
It sounds like there is more to come...

Keep in mind Coca-Cola is entirely funding the new Coke Mart, so would that also mean the fees be waived since they are the ones funding the project?

CastleOSullivan, I think that just refers to the fact Banbury Cross will not be completed when the parks opens and the retheme is expected to be completed in May just before the show debuts.

^^I basically meant to tell people that this is not the extent of the renovation. Some people may go into the park and say to themselves "Oh, this was all? " if they go into the park thinking that's all there was to it, they might be in for a rude awakening come time for the show.

They might be funding the project but Equipment Leases are generally charged regardless of who pays for the building.

And Nic,

Thanks for info on the refill pricing at other Sea World Properties for the freestyle machines.

I don't think the project and plans made for the retheme were last minute. I think due to budget cuts, they had to reorganize their plans and figure out what they could do.
