Aquitaine (France)

I thought about this because I recently saw a photo of the clock with the word "France" on it, which naturally irritated me. It doesn't even look as nice, typographically, as "Aquitaine" did. And Aquitaine makes even more sense now that they have the grapes growing there, since Bordeaux is in Aquitaine!

Maybe they'll change it back someday... grumble, grumble...

The typography of that sign is terrible. It's sad that the change happened during the AB-InBev days. Remember when the shields that say 'Germany' used to say Rhinefeld. It was all part of the dumbing-down of the park, to make it easier to understand, but less unique.

I didn't suggest that it sounds like "tin"! I wrote ahkey-TEHN: T-EH-N, as in the pronunciation of the number 10, with a breathier "E". "Tin" is a short "I" sound, like "fin" and "pin". It is not "tane", that is an "A" sound, and the word in French has no "A" sound except at the beginning!
