I hope it opens soon. Not going to lie, I was a little depressed last weekend not being able to ride it. Even though it is over 25 years old, it is still one of my favorite coasters in the park and has the best view on that lift hill!!!

For some reason the admins of one of the BGW FB groups started a post claiming Apollo is closing (on essentially no evidence) and now there's a bunch of GP in the comments of the FB post worried that it's actually being removed. I don't know if the admins are on this forum are not, but please if you're gonna speculate really make it clear you're speculating, and don't post it on your main page that people follow for news. They did the exact same thing with Tempesto earlier this offseason and Roman Rapids a year or 2 ago.

I thought BGE was fairly credible and stuff till I saw that assinie post.
Also yes they get removed in off season sometimes. Alpengeists was removed after it closed shortly

I am reminded, every time I see this ride, that is was *the best* investment the park made in that last 25 years.
Still my Number 1 at the park, the state of VA, and even the greater East vicinity. I go back and forth, but man, its lovely to ride and just look at.

Its insane to think they got Alpen and then 2 years later they get Apollo. What park has made that kinda HUGE investments in that short amount of time?

Apollo was announced late fall 1998 if I remember correctly, it was so great the way newspaper headlines pumped it up. March 1997 was Alpie's open, which was BIG as well.
If I recall correctly, the park saw a healthy double digit increase in attendance the year Alpengeist went in, making it easier to quickly secure approval for another major ride installation two years later.
This feels like the theme park equivalent of someone in a neighborhood facebook group asking if anyone else heard “gunshots” on the 4th of July.
Last time I remember seeing the original queue railing was probably like 2015-16. Why did they even get rid of them?

You're never going to get that information from any theme park. They've said they are down and they're working on getting them open. They don't need to say why it's down.
