AC controls was my favorite post. I had so much freedom to do want I wanted. We all did. Pretty that is why the auto spiels came along ? ?

Those were there at one point last year, as well. My guess is they'll redo the queue line to accomodate Quick Queue so they don't have to load them from the exit like at other rides.
That’s what I’m thinking

Was telling a fun personal Apollo story today, and thought I'd share it here too. Last June I donated a kidney, 5 weeks post-surgery I was at the park and decided I felt good enough to give coasters a try again, so I hopped on Apollo. As I hit the bottom of the first drop, I felt my internal organs shift down and to the left, falling into place and filling the hole left by the now missing kidney. It was one of the most bizarre sensations I've ever experienced, made me briefly think I was going lose another organ or two, and has strengthened my love and connection with AC.

Apollo closed for at least a little while tonight due to falling firework debris landing on or near it. It usually stays open and was open at the start is anyone aware of this being a past issue.

There was a joke about Apollo’s theming in another thread and it got me thinking... what’s the deal with those posters around the train storage building at the end of the ride? Sure, they look really cool and they’ve been there since I was growing up so I’ve just accepted them as “fact,” but what sort of theming do they represent? They’re definitely not related to Roman mythology.

They seem circus/carnival-themed in some way. So is Apollo actually themed to a carnival ride? Is the ride’s actual theme a carnival ride which, in the FICU (Festa Italia Cinematic Universe), is itself themed to the god Apollo?? Have we been wrong about the ride’s theme this whole time?? What is the Apollo’s Chariot theming canon??? STOP THE MADNESS!

Festa is supposed to be like a carnival/party. That's why everything is in tents. It's also in the name. Festa literally means party in Italian. It's always been my understanding that theme of Italy and everything is similar to what you described.

I’m pretty sure @Joe is familiar with the theming of Festa as a hamlet. I could be wrong, but I believe he has shared a common belief that the area lacks any real cohesion, because rides like Apollo don’t seem to fit very well into the idea of a festival celebrating Marco Polo.

Apollo’s Chariot seems to be more loosely themed to “Roman” than anything to do with a party in Italy. I think his idea was an attempt to reconcile a ride themed to a myth to a random set of murals depicting the Colosseum and hamlet themed to an seemingly unrelated festival.

'Festa' is too similar to Festhaus. Should just rename the entire section Mediterranea or something.
Apollo's Chariot is an awesome coaster. I expect it will still be Best-ride-in-park even after arrival of MMXX.

Yeah... no it won't

Nah... yes it will

This discussion is a practice in textbook hubris. It is impossible for anyone to rank a coaster without having ridden it. It's fair to make guesses, but definitive statements about how an unannounced coaster that hasn't really even gone vertical yet will rank are absolutely insane.
