Considering other stories they have posted include people who live by the beach in Ocean View complaining about there being too much sand, yeah, this meets the standard of local news in Hampton Roads.

Apollo's Chariot is stuck and train is being evacuated.

WAVY is reporting this crap as well! UGH

The idiots at Wavy are reporting that it happened around the same time it rained, and now people are going crazy in the comments about how park management isn't watching the weather. They're persuaded weather stopped the train.

When an evac happens people from departments you didn't even know existed show up.

Not necessarily.  I've seen some pretty gnarly evacs, and not as many people tend to show up as you'd think.  Granted, there are always a lot of people on the platform, but compared to the number that could be there, it's surprisingly smaller than you'd expect.  It's not quite as much of an all-hands event as it gets made out to be.

In the event of an evac, only a rides supervisor is typically required to be present, and maintenance personnel and the rides team members will assist the guests.  Usually higher-ups and full-timers from the Rides Department will come down to monitor the situation and make sure they don't have a potential PR disaster on their hands.  Sure, they might show up with some different colored name tags and fancy earpieces, but we all know who they are, it's just that guests don't typically see them milling about the paths.

There are a few people who will hang out in the station. Security and EMT's will be onsite in the station as riders de-board the train.

Last time we had an evac at my ride there were more than 20 people in the station at a given time. Full-time ops, HR, Staffing, Labor, Dispatch, Security, EMT, supervisors from other rides in my area. Then and again we had to evac from the block 61 feet in the air so I can understand the manpower needed to climb those damn stairs, once a morning is enough for me.
