I think I need to add a bit to @Zachary's comments. While I did enjoy the icing, and actually the entire doughnut, it tasted nothing like a cake. The dough wasn't sweet.

I guess in terms of size it is kinda cake-like. That said, I was expecting a King Cake-like flavor, and it was nothing like that.

Never been to the Purple Cow, but are the effects similar to the blue Smurf ice cream KD used to sell? (Completely showing my age here.)

That Smurf ice cream was the stuff of legend. My brother's in-laws out in western Maryland once spent about 20 minutes at a July 4th barbecue commented on that very phenomenon... in enough detail that I still remember it.

For what it is worth, the Smurf ice cream made a comeback for KD’s 40th anniversary celebration, so many people probably tried it then. That said, the park called it “Blue.” I assume it was a copyright issue.

Anyway, back to Apollo’s 20th, which didn’t get any ice cream at all.

Had the cupcake and donut today. The cupcake was mediocre and the icing tasted like bad grocery store veg oil icing. The donut was, if nothing else, impressive in so far as it could feed a family of 6. It was also largely flavorless.

I remember when my mom and dad bought me the Summer 1999 poster at the original gift shop. I loved it more than life itself, and it survived many moves unframed despite the wrinkles and creases. I cherish it to this day.

For humorous effect, I had to place my framed Tempesto picture as close to it as possible to pay homage to reality. ?
