If the video is accurate to locations, the drop tower ride may be a bit more than just a tower and perhaps swings back and forth - something that encompasses a larger area than just up and down (the base still be relatively small in land mass).

Do you mean like the WindSeekers coming to those four Cedar Fair parks this year?

It's possible. But I would imagine they would want a ride that was different from other parks. It will be interesting to find out for sure.

I know we won't get one, but you know how awesome it would be to get a Funtime Rocket? Imagine sitting in the thing as it soars over Germany and the Rhine. Talk about an amazing view!

Oh my God I want it! The views of the park would be great, but the views of Williamsburg would be even better.

Busch Gardens just posted something on their facebook about hosting an event for kids in Hampton this weekend. Well the event is called "What's dropping in 2011" kids contest. The winners get tickets to Busch Gardens to be used in Late spring 2011. Looks like we may have a time frame to expect a tower ride to be open in BGW next year.

Good eye. It also suggests to me that there will be some type of attraction that caters to children since they will have their own party for the opening. Anyone else think this might be the case?

I got this directly off of BG's media release site:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Sept. 8, 2010) – Rumors have been running rampant among theme park enthusiasts all year about the next major attraction coming to the Williamsburg parks.

Well, the wait is almost over.

In just a few days, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA will unveil a two-year, multi-million dollar expansion plan representing the largest investment in the history of the parks. Officials are planning several additions to both Williamsburg-area parks as well as updates to one of Busch Gardens’ landmarks and expansion of a signature park event.

“We’re re-imagining the look and feel of some of the most recognizable areas of Busch Gardens,” said Park President John Reilly. “We’re revitalizing Busch Gardens and Water Country USA with new attractions so our guests can enjoy the parks for years to come.”

Officials will provide details on Sept. 18 for the parks’ most loyal fans at a special presentation during Busch Gardens’ Pass Member Appreciation Weekend.

The parks’ design and engineering teams will work with local contractors to build the attractions, the first of which will open next spring.

“This is a good news story for the entire region,” said Dick Schreiber, president of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance. “New attractions mean more entertainment options for families visiting the Williamsburg region along with good jobs now that will boost the local economy during a critical time of the year.”

OK...so when they say that theyre updating BG's landmark and in the teaser video...does that mean that they could be updating Festhaus because all of the people in the video are looking towrds that direction. Also they say expansions to one of the park's signature events...do they mean HOS or possibly adding Italy into CT?

I've seen some info about WCUSA. Four slide ride between Aquazoid and Meltdown. The platform is 135 feet high and about 240 feet long. The two inner slides are straight, the two outer slides have turns that kind of loop together, hard to tell exactly from what I saw.

I'm sorry, but I don't buy that for a second. There is no way we are getting the world's tallest waterside.

They've already announced that Italy will be in CT this year.

Oh, btw, Chris, will you be there on the 18th for the reveal? We can't make it up, but I'd LOVE if you'd keep us updated by Twitter.

Yeah, I'll be there, Swift will be there also, so there should be plenty of Twitter updates headed your way.

I'd be willing to bet that those are dueling Aqua-Loops. My. Dream. Has. Come. True.

If this is true, then that would be AMAZING. Water Country REALLY needs something like this. They would be the first Aqua-Loops in America, wouldn't they? It looks like there will be duel speed slides running down the center.

Ok, I'm excited now. :D

i will be there on the 18th
i'll post what i find out on here... but yes this seems to be very huge but i'm hesitant to believe that anything could be a roller coaster because by announcing a coaster this far in advance you ruin the suspense and build up from constructing one. like you wouldn't tell everyone you're getting one and then not talk about it later. you lose that element of surprise. so besides the drop tower i bet you'll maybe see some small new flats and redesigning of areas and nothing more. we also know the BGW special event announcement will be CT details for 2010. as for WCUSA well we kinda know now what they are getting so there shouldn't be any big surprises in store for us really.

Yeah, I'm in agreement with James, I'm not thinking that we'll hear anything about a roller coaster at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that some type of animal attraction is going in. I've heard rumors here and there about the park bringing back the petting zoo and putting it in Germany. I'm also thinking that there is going to be some type of "kidsiterate" attraction going in since they'll be having a "Kids Bash" next spring.

Don't have to wait too much longer to find out though.

I predict the OFFICIAL Howl-O-Scream and Christmas Town announcements, the Drop Tower and WCUSA news, and possibly that they will be constructing a new country beside Germany (they said that they are announcing their two year plans...). I don't expect a coaster announcement till next year (which will then open with the new country).

I feel like I'm talking about an Apple event...
