Yes the in-queue videos produced back then would have a short blurb on the backstory, then they'd show the ride stats, and then they'd play the ride instructions.
I haven't waited in the queue for Verbolten in about a year, but I do remember seeing the security cams working last time I did. Only the TV in the information desk and the security cams in the back station were turned off. Did they turn off the others?
Meanwhile this thing has been running insane, I got the best night rides I ever got on this thing past Saturday.

One of our good friends who is an avid rollercoaster enthusiasts just did the rollercoaster tour and he can confirm from maintenance that alpengeist did in fact get a 3rd train in June last year. Which has helped the maintenance team keep at least 1 train running year round while doing full teardown inspections on 1 train all year
Now if only the icicleswould return and give bring back the st. Bernard's

Alpengiest has had 3 trains for ages, although I'm not sure the last time all 3 were used at the same time.
Back when I worked at the park I was told 2017. No idea how true that is.
The park has had 3 trains for a while, but the third train is used for parts.
What it boils down to:
At any given time, the park has 2 usable trains. The third one is always in pieces in some phase of disassembly/reassembly. Once the 3rd is reassembled, it’s put into service after testing and one of the other two is taken out to get a teardown and rebuild.

Back in 2021 I operated Alpie sporadically. Mostly on days when the ride opened at noon. I've only ever operated the ride with two trains and three operators in the crew( controls, load, unload). It's very doable to send a train when the one ahead clears the mid-course but it requires no issues, an engaging guest/operator relationship, etc. With four operators on platform, three-train ops would probably be easy enough. It's been a while but I think one of the record plaques on the wall by controls has an hourly ridership that would've taken something like 54 cycles per hour to achieve. 2 train ops tops out around 30 cycles per hour.

I hadn’t seen this thread, so I didn’t realize how novel this was, so no. Alas. And the sound was definitely too spotty to hear much detail.

Rode Alengeist yesterday in the 4th row. My god the thing is running smoother than Apollo's Chariot. Wonderful ride.
Glad to hear someone got a good ride. I road it Friday and thought it was the roughest and worst ride I've ever had on a B&M (and that's really saying something since I've ridden Carowinds Vortex). Got off it with a killer headache. Idk what happened to my Alpie, but that was probably the roughest steel coaster ride I've gotten in VA
I thought it still kicked all kinds of ass last week and is still my favorite coaster at BGW. Thought it was very smooth too.
