I'm surprised they still have that video intact. I figured it would've been updated by now. That's the original queue blurb for the ride. It looks like the footage afterwards looks more recent.

For a while, the entire opening year queue video was intact even down to the staff wearing lederhosen and the entrance gates not having the wooden slats you see today. If anyone can get the instructions too, that would be a real treat.

Shared over on Facebook, looks like a support foundation issue, I don’t see any tools I’m concerned about but at the same time I don’t have any solid guesses, it is concerning footer work or structural steel work isn’t fast.

This aren’t my photos of these are yours and on here thanks for the photos.

Something similar happened back in 2018 when I was a tour guide. Cracked footer under a lift support. It ended up being an incredible day for myself and my guests even though no one got to ride Alpie that day. We sat in the maintenance bay way longer than anticipated and got to hear cool stories from a maintenance guy that has been there since the Drachen Fire days. I hope she's up and running soon, I'll be there in June.

One has to wonder if they're gonna do a Kumba and do a temporary fix for the cracked footers in anticipation of future development in this location.

Alpie has been having footer issues for years. It may be a factor that eventually leads to Alpie's demise one day, but I don't believe that day is on the immediate horizon right now. Alpie has FAR fewer cycles than Kumba, has been maintained better than Kumba, and is in a less brutal environment than Kumba. Not saying Alpie is going to be around forever, but it's my impression that its immediate future is far less in question than Kumba's.

From the look of the photos, the concrete that is being redone is the gap section between the actual footer and the support. If that's the case then we're in the clear. Here's a quick example of what I'm talking about. If you look closely from this photo of Diamondback under construction, you'll see the gap between the footer and the support before the gap section was added. 2496323_orig.jpg

Looks like something went wrong over at Alpie. She was closed all day yesterday and now BGW has added a closure notice to the website.

It’s a scheduled repair. Been scheduled since winter. There’s also a section of chain being replaced. Should be open next week.

In case no one has said earlier, Alpengeist and Apollo’s Chariot got redesigned road wheels this year. The trains on Alpie are much faster now as a side affect.

As a scheduled repair, I hope BGW didn’t intend to schedule it over Memorial Day weekend…..

That’s the grout. It helps disperse the forces.
