if Herschend gets Fiesta Texas, how would they deal with the Looney Tunes/DC? It’s easy to take out the Road Runner/Bugs theming, but it’s gonna be a pain in the ass with DC
As you said, removing Looney Tunes theming is simple, presumably because there is only 6 Looney Tunes rides in the park. It’s quite easy to drop the Bugs’ off Bugs’ White Water Rapids in Spassburg, renaming it simply White Water Rapids, but I think Herschend would likely give it a proper rename after maybe a couple of years, presumably to something German or German-inspired at least. The 2 Looney Tunes rides in Rockville are easy to detheme, as Daffy's School Bus Express could just become School Bus Express, as that fits the 1950s America vibe, while Taz’s Tornado can be renamed by going to the ride type which is a swing ride so maybe Lil’ Swing, or Soda Swing, both matching the 50s, while maybe something to do with Swing music but that’s more 30s and 40s. For the Looney Tunes rides in Crackaxle Canyon, Yosemite Sam's Wacky Wagons could just be Wacky Wagons, Foghorn Leghorn’s Barnyard Railway would be perfect as just Crackaxle Canyon Railroad, while Road Runner Express, which is different in this park as its tye name for a regular slightly thrill-ish mine train, rather than a family coaster, the name Canyon Blaster would be perfect, as it is also used for Great Escape’s old Road Runner Express. In terms of removing theming, I think all Herchend would do to start with is remove any Looney Tunes IP decorations, vinyls and props, before giving proper theming a couple of years later, as part of a proper children’s investment with maybe some new rides.
However for DC rides, it’s slightly trickier. Batman is in Rockville, so easily some 50s inspired names could work to do with the flipping, like Flip Flop or Sunnyside Up, but it would likely require a complete repaint of the coaster. However, I think the entire ride would likely be on the chopping block if Herschend bought Fiesta Texas, as S&S 4D Freespins don’t seem like their type of ride. I wouldn’t be surprised if Batman’s plot in Rockville become the site of a GCI or Gravity Group woodie under Herschend. Wonder Woman is also in Rockville, but I have no clue for a name.
For the entire DC Universe area, while part of the land before it’s 2024/2025 expansion was Thrillseeker Park, it’s original 2019 footprint and part of the 2024/2025 expansion was originally Spassburg, so I’d expect that Herschend would merge DC Universe into Spassburg, which since tye DC takeover had been left with Bugs’ White Water Rapids, the Grand Carousel and Kinderstein as its only rides. I’d expect the rides that used to have names fitting the German theme would be renamed back, like DC Super-Villains Swing back to Die Fledermaus, The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway back to Kinderbahn, and Batgirl Coaster Chase back to either its first Six Flags era name of Rollschuhcoaster, or its actual original name of Pied Piper. For all the other rides in DC Universe, I don’t know what they could be renamed but I’d expect them to fit the German theme if merged into Spassburg. However, I think Herschend could retheme DC Universe as its own area, not merged back into Spassburg, but I’d prefer the merger back into Spassburg. For what the theme could be, I’m not sure as you already have a Hispanic themed entry area, a 1920s boomtown, a German village, a 1950s town and a boardwalk area. I think possibly they could go for a Wild West theme which the park surprisingly lacks but Crackaxle Canyon’s boomtown theme sorta covers that, or they could do a proper full-scale Hispanic area, but retain Los Festivales theme as it’s the entry land. Another theme idea is a weird one but how about theme it to a quarry like the park used to be before it was built, and also Superman’s top and the drop is built at the top of the quarry wall.
