You know they could make a book. Imagine the money they would make off of selling complete KD history books.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I wish they would make like a documentary movie like Kings Island did. Would buy that too. Im in the process of making a website for the history :3

I don't know how many people have been to the museum at Cedar Point near Maverick and Sky Hawk but it has a lot of very interesting things inside including old maps and scale rides. They have one car from Gemini that you can sit in and lots of old aerial photos, KD has gotten to the point where they have a lot of rich history as well and would be able to do something like this. I'm sure there is some room between Dinosaurs alive and Hurler that they could fit a building. Knoebels has one as well.

It's not a full museum by any means, but for what it's worth the back half of Starlight Gifts on International Street has been converted to a showcase of old employee memorabilia, commercials, props, etc.

My favorite part of the store is the name tags in the back. They have the 1989 design that my dad wore when he worked tickets at the park. I still wish the park had done just a little bit more to Safari Village. Other then the signs and the animals that was it. It just feels like it's missing something.

This month the park is interviewing the VP of Construction and Maintenance, who has worked at the park for 35 years!

Tony is the one person still there at KD that I worked under back in the early 1980's. I think he was an area ride supervisor when I started there in a 2-week program in 1979. I think he was promoted to park rides manager in 1980.

He held that position for all of the 1980's and into the early 1990's. Sometime in the early 1990's he moved over and headed up the park's security department. I am not sure when he took over leading the parks maintenance department.

It has been years since I last saw Tony in person. I assume his current responsibilities keeps him behind the scenes (not out in the park).

Edit: Should we make another thread for posts about the park's new concert series? It doesn't really have anything to do with the 40th celebration.
