Free churros at the end of the night??  This is a thing?

They give away the churros that are already made and didn’t sell. At closing just ask for a churro and they’ll give you one.

*record scratch* wait, what?? this may be  is the greatest tip I’ve ever read on this board! Thanks for the heads up!

don't do it, this can get the tm fired if caught, it is considered stealing

The park allows it. It’s either give the churros away that people won’t buy, or throw them away. The park isn’t going to waste a perfectly good churro.

It is against park policy. There are situations where supervisors won't care—but that doesn't make it right.

If you go up to a snack booth at a theme park and ask for free food, expect to be disappointed. It's a business, not a soup kitchen.

Also, the entire food service industry is built around wasting perfectly good food. BGW's churro operations are no different.

Strange. There are people that litterally announce free churros.

So then you have employees going against the rules. I would bet now since it's on here we never hear of that again.

These things usually happen in 1 of 3 ways:
1 - The park knows and just turns a blind eye. Highly unlikely.
2 - Whoever was working it at one time gave some to friends on their way out at the end of the night, someone else saw that, asked for one, got it, and it grew to just become a thing that the park didn't know about. This is likely.
3 - They went to throw a bunch out, someone asked since they were throwing them out if they could grab one, was told innocently sure, and over time they told people and it grew to just knowing to ask at a certain time.

Either way of the three, I bet the park would be very unhappy to learn that this practice is happening and won't allow it to happen any more. And on top of that I doubt and disposal of food would happen until after the park closes if that's the case.

The whole free churro operation is nothing more than laziness of employees to ring up the purchase. I have seen it and gotten many a free popcorn, churro or drink refill at night when I am just looking for a snack on the way out of the park. If the park closes at 9 then usually by 9:25ish the employees are trying to cash out and close the register so they can leave as soon as possible. This has been going on for years and happens almost nightly at the stand across from The Globe Theater. I dont care if BGW knows it happens or not, the fact is that they say that section is open for 30 minutes when in reality they start closing at 20 after.

Exactly. The registers are down when there are still churros in the heating case. It’s either give them out or waste a tasty churro :(

So is this just them moving the doughnut machine from over by Pompeii?

what doughnut machine?

They sell hot doughnut holes at that stand next to Pompeii, during Christmas Town.
They havent been a big hit, every time ive looked at them they are overcooked and look like they have been sitting under the heat lamp for hours. Believe me I love some doughnuts. Typhoon Lagoon in Disney has a hot doughnut stand and they are delicious. They literally cant make them fast enough for demand. If BGW could accomplish this it would be amazing!

This is starting to sound like, "if no one is hurt and no one is caught then its no breaking the rules..."

You know how you know a truly honorable man? He does the right thing when no one is looking. That would include not encouraging people to break the rules.

The only point your making is that a portion of Busch employees aren’t honorable.
