RE: 2012 Coaster

I'm a bit confused about the turntables???
Is the whole ride going to be on your belly like the super man ride?

Or is just for fun shooting you up and sending you back down then riding normaly sitting up?

Based on the plans there are no turntables, the only specialized track section is the drop track.

So I am new here, and I don't have the time to read all 52 pages of this thread to get caught up... What is the long and short of this new ride other than it launches and it is going to be something "new"?

Read first few post, or look at main site.

The coaster will roll out to a bridge. The bridge will rotate to a 90 degree angle and launch riders over 300 ft in the air. </troll>

I can guarantee its not gonna launch anywhere close to 300 ft in the air, and doubt it will launch at the bridge either way. There is no was that James City County would ever allow them to build 300 ft in the air, they hardly like Griffon and Mach Tower being so large. Plus, they already did the balloon tests for height clearance by the county, and the max they did was around 90ft (for the huge indoor portion of the ride).

I think you missed his troll tag at the end...

Will use the old BBW (remodeled) station. Built by Zierer, a little German company (which is worrisome/controversial to some). Will have an "event building" which will include lights, effects, brakes and launches, and a "drop track" (much like Th13teen rollercoaster at Alton Towers). Will have as its finale a drop over the Rhine River identical (at least footerwise) as BBW, however this drop will be preceded by a "broken bridge" element. Will be heavily themed.

Did I cover the basics Chris/Swift/everyone?

And don't forget the name: "Verbolten: Spirit of the Gunter." :p

Would "Turbolten" be any better? Meshing the turbocharged essence with the forbidden-speed theme?

"Verbolten" was a placeholder name used by the designers until the real name is confirmed 99% chances are the coaster will not be named that, same goes for "Elementum" (another placeholder).

I have no idea where "Spirit of the Gunter" came from. This is the first time I've heard of this.

Another thing to mention: Possible theming elements may include the Black Forest and automobiles (inspired by the AutoBahn).

But I thought that's why Busch held the poll a while ago, to get loyal customers' opinions on the name. Verbolten was a choice and it also showed up for the county records. Coincidence? Or is it really just a placeholder?

RE: 2012 Coaster

None of us really know for sure. Honestly though, is the name really important when we have a maker, a name, a layout, and a theme?

RE: 2012 Coaster

Some pics I took last night, shows a couple of footers that have been poured.

RE: 2012 Coaster

I hope there is an announcment soon. On Screamscape, there seems to be alot of news about announcements for other parks. Im really tired of waiting. So hopefully not to long after MT's opening?
