RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)
I haven't posted in a while, but in catching up, I must say a few words...
We can go back and forth on the ride type, maker, etc., but we MUST always consider what I believe to be one of the most critical elements of matters like these involving major attractions under construction:
Practicality.
Busch Gardens knows all of their roller coasters, except for Grover's, are not 100% family friendly, with varying degrees of intensity which oust the younger, more sensitive groups from the queue. It only makes sense that this ride will be a European-adaptation of the GENERAL concepts employed (either by Intamin or Zierer) in the recently installed Cheetah Hunt in Tampa. Look at Sheikra/Griffon & Alpengeist/Montu. The theme will be different, it will go marginally faster, have an event building, and have some surprises to make the "wow" factor a major selling point, but this will be another BGT-BGW tag-team effort, so to speak. I forsee an accessible ride for several audiences, something a "300 foot Intamin" cannot afford its riders. KD is still learning its lessons with the other 300 foot Intamin right up I-95, and we honestly think Busch would fight that fire with the same flame thrower as its (semi)-rival did in 2010? Likely not. Mach Tower might be seen a quick stopgap ride, very much like Drop Zone in nature (a gravity experience), but I don't think this ride will be much like anything they offer in Doswell.
All I'm saying is try and think logically here if possible, and take steps avoid the endless drama/bickering that occurs nearly
every year a park embarks on a major ride campaign and forum followers elevate their blood pressures and lose sleep over speculation not grounded by realities/ examples from the past. Heck, isn't it kinda fun NOT knowing eveything about what we will sample in less than 1-year's time?
I'm not saying it isn't fun to speculate and imagine the awesomeness of this coaster, just do so with the practical notion that THIS time around, a German Intimidator 305 with an event building is not in 2012's cards.
Now could it be project 2013? Well, we already have an engaging thread on that
Cheers to everyone!
