RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Zierer produces track here:

ZIERER Karussell- und
Spezialmaschinenbau GmbH
Moosgasse 4
94560 Offenberg
Phone: +49(0)991 9106-0
Fax: +49(0)991 9106-84

Zoomy posted this in the old thread. It should live here as well:

"So I got bad news today about the project so I guess I will talk about what I know to be true. The schedule, this is the tentative schedule that was issued;

The sfx building (building 80) foundation 5/31/11, floor slab 6/16/11, building erection 10/25/11 so we have to wait until Hollowscream to see the building. This building is slam full of stuff, lights, sounds, effects.

The station; selective demo 6/28/11, station reconstruction 9/7/11, theming 11/30/11. The theming is really nice.

The ride; ride fabrication 5/2/11, (where does Zierer build their track? Zierer is the manufacturer) deliver event building track 9/26/11, ride install inside sfx building 9/27/11, deliver remaining track 11/1/11, ride install outside 11/2/11, deliver 1st train 12/15/11, deliver remaining trains 1/16/12, startup and test 2/9/12. The schedule is very aggressive and the intent is to have the ride ready for opening day.

I've heard a couple numbers for the budget, lowest 51 million highest 54 million. We may never know the exact number but it is a huge amount.

I don't think the name is Elementum or Verbolten. I think they've kept the name totally secret, only a few people actually know it. I don't think they are flip flopping on the name like Cheetah hunt, the theming is too specific. The theming is great and I have a few ideas to the story but they are only guesses from what I've seen. They kept the actual theming details pretty vague.

I've seen a lot of the details to this ride and I think it will be really great, not the ultimate thrill ride but something really special and totally different."

Does anybody have a general idea when we may see a teaser site for this coaster?

For what I feel like is the 100th time, shortly after Mac Tower opens....Of course we have no idea when that is either.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Jaxter, you'll have to go back to the beginning of the post and do some reading ;). There are pics and all that you can look at that explain the coaster and what it will do.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Ok Busch get the show on the road Mach was suppose to open a month ago and when I called they said the working crew
For Mach was taking the day off... Ok well a year ago Tampa was on the ball with teasing their attraction so Busch better get on the ball fast or they are going to loose some promotion:( butt...... 5 years ago Busch teased us with griffon going up its lift hill in late July and stating BGW will leave you hanging until august 26 so they might take that approach even thoughnits not that appealing and not a good marketing goal in our social media world of today :)

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Good marketing goal? Do you mean strategy? If so, they're doing a really good job marketing right now. I know we all want info and we want it now, but the fact is they're in a PR/Marketing nightmare (may their sleepless souls find peace soon). They simply can't promote a new ride right now with Mach Tower and they can't promote Mach Tower because well...it's broken.

The teaser idea of "keeping you hanging" is probably the best thing they can do once MT either starts working or is torn down (jk). It's a tried and true strategy to create buzz and free press before any significant reveals.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Odds would have it a teaser template is formed and awaiting release pending the swizzle stick.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

So most of the debate about the coaster has been about what's inside the "Event Building". So what happens before the building? Does it immediately launch out of the station, or pull a volcano and go around the turn then launch? Would this first part be flat, or have a few hills?

For the record, I am talking about this (the red box)

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

My guess is that it doesn't launch at all until you reach the building's entry tunnel. We won't really know for sure though until someone gets their hands on full coaster plans or the park actually releases something.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Yeah I agree with both of you, If we are loading 2 trains at once, there will need to be space for one train to wait until the other train clears the block... And I doubt the park will release anything to the public until it's time for opening, I also doubt that I will know anything else unless I get higher up in the company

What the crap Swfit! I've asked this question like 5 times and NOW you answer?! haha But yes, that straight piece of track right before the tunnel could definitely be a launch. If they're digging such a big hole and the building is going to be 80ft above existing grade, I wonder if this will be a relatively significant launch....Or the bottom part of the building will be like a basement and house fun ride guts.

A nice, leisurely ride through the forest and then launch into darkness would terrify the children.....I like it.
