Carter the Spy actually did it! Wow, I'm a little surprised.

I take offense to that. Of course I actually did it haha

I'll tell everyone how in the thread once Swift posts the pics. I get back to DC around 9pm.

If the results are as good as anticipated! Your next assignment will be to dig up dirt on Project 2012!

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

it's easy to get pictures of something rather than prying giles and lum for info about the coaster

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

sadly not even you can accomplish such a feat...no...for this we need super gee....and that won't happen :(

Smart move actually. I am sure the park will close the security hole once they see it. Keeps your work original.

I know right?

What I think is most interesting to note is that the big piles of dirt are gone and the hole is bigger. Meaning that they aren't "filling" the hole, rather they're digging on and taking the dirt away (Fest Haus Park is totally ruined by the way).

Looking back, I remember that the plans we looked at had a lot of grading around the event building. I dont know why I didn't put it together earlier, but that event building is totally going have it's foundation lower than the Bumper Car's and the station.

Remember that the building is supposed to be 80ft "Above existing grade"? Well what the digging means to me are bigger drops inside the building and to keep the jcc counsel happy, they are digging down to make a larger ride. If you can't go up, why not go down? Just some thoughts.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

I'm not buying it, but I'll post it anyway. From the Theme Park Review forums by a guy named Skycoastin Steve:
A tiny update. The name of the new coaster is indeed going to be Verbolten, and all the leaked concept art and blueprints are accurate. Confirmed while at the BGW event today.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

I like the name Vebolten. I always have. It definitely fits the theme of the ride, the german setting, and the forbidden forest. I know people like to hate on it, but it is a pretty good name even if it isn't named after a mythical beast.

Steve is a very active poster and generally posts very accurate info. I'd love to see his source though....

I agree, Carter. Any of the Black Forest Turbo-oriented names reminded me of Black Forest Ham lunchmeat, and the "turbo" part just made it sound like a speedy lunchmeat racing through a haunted forest at untold speeds. Verbolten is a name that has grown on me, and when the ride is completed, I think it will fit even better. Doesn't matter that much anyway, it will still get mispronounced by many and called The Verboten, just like The Griffon and The Apollo. ;)

(All of this rests on the actuality that Verbolten is the final name selected...)

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

I guess I will keep my Plat Pass to frequent BGT. BGW has lost my faith.

Still don't think that is the real name.

well who's the negative nancy........???

BTW: TPR says a tour guide from the Behind-the-Scenes tour confirmed Verbolten as the name. I wouldn't be denying it now unless they are lying over there.........again ;)

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

And telling the TPR group something like that is very irresponsible if that ends up not being the name.

Keyword, a "behind the scenes tour." more than likely an ego plagued high school Busch employee for a guide that read a name on a piece of art and took if for fact.

I heard the real name is "Bigger Badder Wolf: Revenge of the Black Forest, Wolf." :p

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

The tour guides are nice and quite knowledgeable on the park's history, but as far as what's coming, I'd be willing to bet that they don't know anymore about Project 2012 than your average park employee does.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

[rant] Hey don't make fun of your tour guides! Without them, you won't go to the top of griffon! [/rant_over]... i am not buying the name either, but I will ask the tour guys i know if they know anything...

The top of Griffon is the top of Griffon. I'm up there every time that I ride. :sleepy:

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Well....with less than a year to go opening and no other names trademarked it's looking more and more likely that Verbolten is the name.

And eh, whatever about the tour guides. They're probably reporting from Screamscape which reports Verbolten as fact just like it reported Cheetaka as fact as well.

The name just seems to fit too well for me to disregard it...

EDIT: Mods, can we change the "sleepy" smiley face to "smug"? I would use it much more often...
