RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

On the topic of the coaster, somebody (can't remember who) said that there was something unusual about the drop at the event building and that they were am Engineer, did they ever figure out what it was?

It was that the track looked like it could rotate about 15 degrees in either direction based on a mechanism on the drop section. I think Scout posted that...

I posted I feel I have a pretty good grasp on how it works. Didn't say anything about rotations though.

Hm....I need to find that post again....

So Scout, give us all the rundown again: how does it work?

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

swift actually pointed out what he thought would happen. Essentially there's a screen around the drop and it looks like the track can rotate on the way down just a little bit.

The only tweaking available for professionals is allowing the companies to use a larger grid for making any coaster (e.g. The Voyage will not fit on the regular version if you try to build it to scale). They also can make some scenery to scale as well. That's about it. The animation still looks like No Limits graphics.

Importing train/track styles, features, graphics engine, etc are all limited to the pro version. They still only use it for aesthetics, no designing at all.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

NoLimits is used for a public look at what the ride and surroundings (to a limit) will look like when you're riding them. It pretty much is used for public releases like Happy Valley's Hi-Five Dueling Wooden Coaster, Twister at Tivoli and Wooden Warrior at Quassy.

The majority of the companies in the amusement industry are using advanced forms of AutoCADD in order to design their rides these days. Some have been doing so since the late 80s.

I never said they used it for "designing" only. They have CAD programs for the real stuff.

I was pointing out that they don't just use it for fun.

They are a business after all and the fact they use No Limits to promote and market their coasters is a testament to the fact that it's more than a leisurely program for them.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

How can you people get this far off topic? I guess I have to post new pictures...

Can someone explain why I'm looking at rusted cars? Tell this isn't some sort of theme for the new coaster.

You've been away from the forums for a while, you may want to sit down... In a nut shell: The theming of the coaster is driving cars through a haunted forest.

(It's not as bad as it sounds.)

As far as I've seen, People aren't taking the pictures bur they are spreading the information. On the parks facebook page when someone asks for info on this coaster, there are a few people that'll tell them thebtrack layout, theme, etc. Idk if Busch has taken notice or not, but the people spreading the info are citing this site as well
