RE: 2012 Coaster

I just noticed something inaccurate about the road sign logo. This ride has theming elements of the AutoBahn but the sigh is an American road sign. (The yellow diamond.) They don't use those kind of signs in Europe. A more accurate sign for the logo should be a white triangle with a red border.

RE: 2012 Coaster

That was what i was talking about theres 2 versions of the sign one like this and one european style but for some reason i cant save the pic to my computer i will just take a screen grab :)

Nope, it's still Verbolten according to the USPTO's TESS.

Well, they couldn't just trademark a generic German word, could they?

I'm thinking this is a CheeTaka -> Cheetah Hunt situation.

RE: 2012 Coaster

Maybe the BGW Imagineers aren't as "clever" as we think and "Verbolten" was just a type-o that wasn't corrected until recently. (The "L" key is right below the "O" key.) :-/

I wish, see attached. Cheetah Hunt is trademarked by SWPE.

If it was a typo that would be their lawyer's fault, and should have been corrected along time ago.

RE: 2012 Coaster

If you look up verboten on google images you'll see why the "O" is shaped the way it is...its the "forbidden" sign

RE: 2012 Coaster

It's just an article about the history of Autobahns, and the voltage converter is just an ad. The site is owned by Hyde Flippo, and promotes their book The German Way & More.

Also, 100th Post! :D

RE: 2012 Coaster

What are the odds that a German company could have the Verboten name? And what you are finding are their logos?

We know the name will be Verbolten based on the lightning logo on the green wall.

RE: 2012 Coaster

To be fair, Cheetaka was set up the april before Cheetah hunt opened. Then Cheetah Hunt was registered one day before they announced the name the October before it opened.

Verbolten was registered in much the same way: March of this year. It's entirely possible, they could pull a name switch before they announce the name of the ride.

If I was a betting man, I'd say they would probably keep Verbolten. But it is entirely possible they could name it Verboten. Regardless, it's just a name, I'll still ride the dang ride and enjoy it.

Of course we don't know any details yet, but if you read that autobahn article, it did state the normal posted speed of the autobahn is about 80 mpH and in dangerous/high traffic areas it is about 65 mpH. I would love a coaster somewhere in that speed range. Sign me up.

RE: 2012 Coaster

heres the raw bolt logo looks as if bg just plasterd this up as the template haha!

RE: 2012 Coaster

I called the BMW dealership that's linked to that article and the operator didn't know anything. I was hoping it was a teaser site like HP put up with fake phone numbers-its not. So I emailed the author of the page it directly links to to see if he can tell me anything about being used to tease a new roller coaster. We'll see what he says. Probably nothing, but its worth a shot.

Do you really think that it would be able to get to those speeds? I personally don't think it would be possible at all in the event building. Just looking at the design photos and the space (at the park) it looks like those turns within the building are going to be pretty tight. Not to mention there isn't much of a long straight shot at all on the coaster like Apollo's, which only goes 67mph.

RE: 2012 Coaster

Oh, I'm pretty sure it won't be that fast, but a man can dream right? I'll just wait for the 2014 B&M Giga right? ha.

The qr code link might just be for people to understand what the autobaun is and how it could tie into the theme oh well will just have to wait untill the park releases all the offical dets.

RE: 2012 Coaster

Can we confirm that the name is Verbolten and that it has an elevator drop?

That's what I'm mostly looking forward to, haha.

We can neither confirm nor deny Verbolten. Some of the teaser imagery includes lightning bolts and the likes, which sort of makes me think Verbolten is the name. But these recent drawings and such just say Verboten. Still up in the air at the moment. Also, like it's been stated here, it could be just like Cheetaka/Cheetah Hunt.

As for elevator drop, I'm not sure what you mean by elevator drop, but I'm pretty sure there is a section of drop track in the event building.
