Wow, this site has turned into kdfansite.

Well at least KDFansite does not bash other forums...

Not that everyone on here does.

Proposed theme is very Steampunk. I've got a lot of friends who will pee themselves with excitement over it.

Steampunk will look very dated in just a few years...

Steampunk would fit BGW's "olde tyme" theming better than "vroom-vroom cars"! :dodgy:

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

arrow wolf...... the drachen buildings remain for now....hunted is pegged to be be torn down before hos...FHP is just a big hole with several large dirt mounds that surround it.....this will be the foundation for the event building. As of today...all of the concrete footers that would disrupt the grading and formation of the foundation have been removed. It looks as if they are strictly working on removing the remaining dirt from the sides of the GIANT hole. Sources have told me they will be some more activity come friday. Also, a nice sized wo grubb crane was spotted from the train today in the back area of fhp....

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

I'm pretty sure that crane is for Mach Tower.

I don't know how solid the source is, but they claim that the launch after the drop track is 60 miles per hour.

That's not too outrageous. For the long path it will take to get to the themed bridge I would imagine it would need that kind of speed.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

that crane is not for mach tower....for it is too small...the crane they used for mt was a lockwood crane....plus they wouldnt put a crane for mt in the fhp back area....they would leave it in the employee lot or in the festhaus parking lot.... this crane is for FHP

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Very good progress!! Way to go BG :)

I think they are getting a leg up on this one, remember how unforgiving the last winters have been in VA, they can't afford to languish around on construction if we get another round of rough winter weather and the projected opening date is the early in the 2012 season. This thing will require a substantial amount of testing considering these launches and new track elements, not to mention exterior theming.

Can we get a name confirmation already? Is it truly Verbolten: Revenge of the Black Forest Turbo Bahn Uber-Gunter?:p

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

yes, but when it drops into the Rhine the drop is supposed to be something like 126 feet; so at some point it should have to climb up like 60 ft to make that incredible drop into the Rhine.

That is true about testing. I have heard that Cheeta Hunt has had a few problems with all the launches. There is a video (posted on here somewhere if I recall right) where the train stoppes because a launch "misfired".

You'll have this with Intamin coasters - Kingda Ka and El Toro (Six Flags Great Adventure) had hellish first seasons... Great ideas, poor execution - they both took a whole season to work out the bugs while giving the park guests a heap of disappointment. So far, though, (knock-on-wood) Cheetah Hunt is faring much better...

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

No clue. I can't get up there more than once a week (and often not even that) to provide all the construction updates. Anyone else want to step up to the plate? It only takes about 15 minutes or so...

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)
