It'll be interesting to see how busy they get. Also Halloween stuff is still up in Italy, but Christmas in the rest of the park. I'd assume most of that would have to come down. Christmas Celebration was extended to next weekend.

Ok so here is my theory on how BGW is/could do a all year round park due to the VA weather. During January every thing that us open right now for Christmas celebration will remain open (minus the Christmas decorations), this will allow BGW to still do there of season Maintenance in italy,Scotland, and England. In February the areas and rides of the park that were open for Halloween harvest will reopen (minus the Halloween decorations), and just like in January this will allow for BGW to do there off season Maintenance on Germany,France/new France, and Ireland. I can see BGW going down this route due to the success they have seen with there small scale events they have been doing, allowing them to cut some costs while still being in some money, still have a off season and also still be open at the same time rather than going the BGT route. (Shutting Down groups of rides every couple of months)

So I’m on the fence with this. Despite the area being generally miserable during the winter here, I genuinely take joy in walking around the park. The lack of anything fun to do normally makes me depressed around this time of year and this might help with that.

On the other hand, I feel that the park might not have properly prepared for this decision. The one ride they can run indoors is impossible to run now and there is nothing else to do indoors besides either wait for food or eat food.

We shall see...

I went last night with drizzle and the park was definitely not making money. Also absence makes the heart fonder or something. I sometime even find myself lukewarm about opening day, but go at it like I'll never get to ride again at the end of the season.

I can remember as a kid getting amped up for a trip to the park in winter only for it to be a prank my parents played on me - CT wasn't yet in existence.

But now that I'm older, I dunno if this is something I'd want to do. As much as I like the atmosphere and scenery and whatnot, I feel like the quality has gone downhill while they've focused on other areas over the years (not that I'm complaining about all the latest ride additions). And when it's too cold for rides and, at least for the immediate future, the pandemic limits love entertainment options, the scenery and atmosphere is about all they have left (including animals).

So IMO if they're going to make this successful through continuing to only open select hamlets through low capacity events/months, then they better also have a team dedicated to doing detailed refreshes of the other areas until they all open.

Like @BGWnut said earlier, expect the park to make January and February compelling with new special events.

They don’t need to drive people to visit multiple times during each event—they just need to make it enticing enough to get people to come out once during each event. I’m confident BGW can manage that.

You have to give BGW credit, they've handled this situation extremely well. 2 operating slots is genius and now making more money in the winter

Also goes to show how much money SeaWorld still needs to make back

So knowing this do you think BGW will carry over BGT Mardi gras event they just announced?
