Screamscape heard this might be a dive coaster, but I actually think the S&S Axis Coaster makes a lot of sense here...it's the closest to a shape-shifting roller coaster that there could be!
if I have to guess, my guess this fearthewrath coaster will be taking over the old buccaneer battle lot, I guess six flags changed their site planning after realizing it that the fearthewrath coaster will fit will in Mardi Gras
Maxx Force's reliability was abysmal the weekend I visited SFGam, and considering Steel Curtain and the graveyard of S&S coaster mistakes, I'd be surprised if this was an Axis. Surprised and disappointed.
I mean a dive coaster would fit in that parks lineup very well. They need as much capacity as possible honestly. Definitely could use a newer modern “stand out” but it’s not like you’re not satisfied visiting and a dive coaster would make it even better.
I've filed an FOIA request with the village of Gurnee to see if the park filed for any permits that might indicate what type of attraction is being built. If it is a dive coaster, I'm expecting them to request a permit to build over 150', which should be public record.
As much as I wish this would be true. No way in hell they test a model like this at SFGAm
The park can go up to 200 ft tall in this area without a zoning variance. If they need a variance, it will be on a future Planning Board agenda.

I just got done filing a fishing expedition FOIA with Gurnee the other day as well.
Like @MaxxForceFan, I have been watching the online database, but given that demo is now happening at the splash battle, I'm not seeing an applicable permit—hence my FOIA.
Maybe we do need to start coordinating...
