Mardi Gras Hangover was the only ride added to the park in 2018. Revolution and Big Easy Baloons are the only rides left from 2004. With the addition of Sky Striker next door, it makes sense for Revolution to be on the way out.
I could see Condor being moved to Revolution's location. I think it would fit in better in the County Fair section of the park. This would allow the park to retheme the Mardi Gras section and part of the Orleans Place section to DC Universe and connect the existing DC Universe with Superman Ultimate Flight and The Dark Knight coaster.
They could put a Zamperla Endeavour in Condor's current location. Maybe replace Mardi Gras Hangover with a Funtime Booster, Funtime Booster Unhinged, or Zamperla Disk'O.
IIRC they had a Disk'o or something like a Disk'o in the past called Jester's Wild Ride. Joker replaced it but it was last seen in storage in the boneyard so it could return one day
Say goodbye to a few favorites!
That’s right! On October 28 & 29, enjoy your LAST WEEKEND to ride Mardi Gras Hangover and Revolution. While we will miss these attractions, it’s time to plan for future expansion! These attractions will be available during park operation on October 28 and 29 (subject to availability).
Well. MGH making a whole five years before retirement was not something I was expecting back when it was announced. I'll probably be kicking myself forever for not riding these either in 2018 or 2019, although at least in the latter case it was mandatory because of the fact that I wasn't allowed to go on the thrill rides.
After watching the new video from wheelgap, it appears we might have the location for the 2025 project. The fright fest maze next to Demon is being removed, the trough at Buccaneer Battle was recently removed, and there is a new survey stake by Demon's queue line.
Yes the teaser was spotted near Mardi Gras Hangover's site; Source
Back in Late May, Six Flags filed a RIDE (not Haunt) trademark for Wrath of Rakshasa. For copy-paste search, it be serial #98571872.
A Rakshasa can be a few things. They're a humanoid boss in Elden Ring, or a tiger-headed fiend in Dungeons & Dragons. In Hindu mythology however, they're malevolent goblins/demons with the ability to shape-shift into different animals. After all, Looks Can Be Deceiving...
It's been a long ass time since they've had the opportunity, but Six Flags Great America has historically teased major new coasters/attractions with pieces dropping every Thursday until announcement day. This was true for Maxx Force and Goliath, no so much for Sky Striker. They've also had a tendency to use the first week as a red herring of sorts; in Maxx Force's case, the waterpark was teased first before using the speed slides to switch gears.
Given the immediate point, it's possible that the new attraction has nothing to do with the Mardi Gras Hangover spot. There's been speculation that they could combine that with the Roaring Rapids site, which is currently MIA with the sign taken down. Locals are saying however that it's being actively worked on, plus it's located the nearest to the neighborhood and building a huge theoretical coaster there would raise issues.
Now will it be a coaster??? The answer is... it's very possible. We'll have to wait until a site is locked and loaded for sure, but SFGAM is raising teasers for something significant indeed and those 2025 rumblings haven't been quiet. The park has a very well rounded collection of coasters and there's no significant gaps to fill; a B&M Dive Machine would fit in nicely and it's been a popular rumor for years, albeit one motivated more by wish fulfillment rather than any evidence (of which there is none, just warning any would-be Youtuber trying to use these comments for a speculation video) . I can't think of any major known half-baked Intamin/Vekoma projects though and we'd be hard pressed to see a huge coaster from one of the American manufacturers, so really can't speculate with better ideas. Maybe just build a NebulaZ and call it a day? Or they could always do a big Demon reimagining, wouldn't be a half bad idea actually and it could use some long-term work.
Either way it seems like 2025 will be time to Make Great America Great Once Again (or has it not always been?), looking forwards to hearing more.

my guess that mardi gras will get rethemed to san francisco themed area with the rapids getting rethemed to lost rivers with the wrath of rakshasa themed ride to fit in the Asia culture of san francisco
Hello, new poster here from Chicago. Saw the fenced in area last Sunday before the sign was placed. It was definitely not large enough for something substantial, so I'm hopeful that the Buccaneer area is the spot for whatever's going here. I personally wouldn't mind an RMC Raptor, which could be made to fit just about anywhere, and could be easily themed to the Hindu Rakshasa, perhaps even tying in with the nearby Demon. But that's wishful thinking on my end...

yeah, my guess its makes more sense to build a rakshasa ride in the area near demon and maybe rethemed half the country fair area to a demon themed area (think of it as the dark forest from alton towers), the old Mardi Gras hangover lot would get replaced by a new ride
