Verbolten is an indoor/outdoor ZIERER Elevated Seating Coaster that features a Vertical Drop Element. It officially opened in mid-May 2012 on the site formally occupied by the Arrow Suspended Coaster, Big Bad Wolf.

That's funny because according to numerous sources, Vbolt was an option to work for CT 2012... either the park is lying to everyone of it's employees saying they can work somewhere that they really can't, or the person you talked to has no idea of what is really going on
 
I honestly hope its not open for Christmas Town to give the park a chance to make it work the way it's supposed to work, and we all know what I mean by "the way its supposed to work."

Last year I asked on of the managers what was going on with Mach Tower and she said that the vibration in the seats were too strong so they had to send the drop carriage back to Moser.

So I'm leaning toward the latter of your situations.
 
I went to BGW yesterday for HOS. This is the only time I've been this year. I was looking forward to my first experience with Verbolten as well. I only got to ride it once but I enjoyed it very much. The lighting effects didn't bother me that much. I liked the drop at the end of the "black forest". I was told by my group who have ridden before that their was a "surprise element". I didn't expect the drop.

I was in Orlando a couple of weeks ago at Magic Kingdom and Universal. Verbolten reminds some of The Mummy ride at Universal. That's probably why I enjoyed Verbolten because I loved the Mummy ride and it's special effects.

I'll have to come back up next year to give it few more rides.
 
Take this as you wish, but I was talking to a Mach Tower employee last weekend and he said that all of the rumors about Verbolten's supposed "crash" back in testing were false.... to an extent.... He eventually told me that what actually had happened was in fact the valleying of the train and their attempt at removal, but instead of the cable snapping when taking it out, the axle that it was hooked onto broke, causing the train to roll back down. He did say though that there were no injuries, and the only damage to the train was the axle.

This is just what I was told by an employee who seemed pretty knowledgeable. I'm not saying that this is in fact true, but it does sound fairly reasonable.
 
That could be true but due to the amount of down-time the yellow train suffered I can't believe it. Also We could see the back of the train and from the pictures the back of the train looked fine.

That is a good point about seeing the back. I was actually just thinking about that today. I still think it could be possible, but maybe not probably.
 
According to Evan, Verbolten has been down a ton tonight. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

How is that unusual. They should have a backup plan to open Griffon or Alpengiest in case of a long term Verbolten break down.
They should open one of those two ride on the busiest days anyway to help spread out the lines.

Just got home. I got to the park at 5 and headed straight to Verbolten and it went down as soon as I got there (you know with my luck) and since it was my first visit to the park in about 4 years and I really wanted to ride it so we decided to wait because i've heard that it has had a thing for a short downtime lately. It began testing about 20-30 minutes after shutting down and then at that point everybody in line was leaving because well it was broken down so I moved all the way up into the station. They sent out either 1 or 3 trains didn't see if the first 2 trains went out loaded or not. But I know the yellow train was in station B and when it got to station A it stopped and the restraints flew back open. We decided to wait yet again. We waited to long. It tested at least 3 times in the 3 1/2 hour downtime. The first 2 times kept us there with the hope of reopening but were yet again fooled.

I asked an operator after the 2nd set of testing what was going on because they stopped testing and didn't say anything. He said he doesn't know they don't inform him of anything unless they're to begin loading. Which really made me because I believe all operators need to know what is happening with the ride they're are on. The operator didn't even know when they were beginning testing. The way they informed them was by opening the gates.

I believe it got really bad when I looked up in the booth to see four people up there with a big binder flipping through pages. You could tell none of them had any idea on to what they were doing.

Around 7 we got out of line and went to eat and walked by to see if any progress was made and I saw they were sending empty trains yet again and then stopped once we got to the bridge. We went to the arcade for about an hour (could have been spent better but my brother isn't much a lights person and loved arcades). After that we went back and it was finally open and I got two fun and not interrupted rides on Verbolten. One ride in the back and front.

One question: I've noticed some of the trains are missing either right or left side mirrors in the front? Anyone know why? Yellow was missing the right one and orange was missing the left. I didn't look to see about red or green. Also as you can tell there is some detail and frustration in there: that happens when you sit in a line for 2 hours. Every time we were about to leave they began testing again so we stayed.

It's because people try adjusting them and they break. That my friends is why the public cannot have nice things.

While I do agree with you that another coaster should be running during CT, those rides were already down for the season, so there isn't too much you can do there.

Most of the technical stuff goes through maintenance and higher ups. Prevents the guests from freaking out, thinking the ride is unsafe because of the shutdown. That being said, when it looks like the people on the platform are running the ride (thumbs up and all), the ride is obviously testing. If the ride stops in the middle of testing, it's broken again. Opening up is a completely different story.
 
This entirely. Some people think running items and making corrections is no more difficult than flipping a switch.

I guess it would be hard to run them now. I did not realize that the park already "winterized" the rest of the coasters.
