I was scheming a story involving nixies as I wrote that post. Luring unsuspecting tourists out onto a broken bridge and drawing them to plunge into the Rhine is just almost too perfect with German nixie lore. Vbolt's station and whatnot can remain unchanged—just the inciting incident of what draws you into the Black Forest, what you encounter there, and then what force ultimately tries to kill you after launch 2 can change without impacting the station-area theme.

I'll probably make a full concept eventually, but right now a different concept is taking priority.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I'd much rather see them refurbish it back to the way it originally was (plus maybe some more?), than have a total retheme. I'm in general not really a huge fan of rethemes, for some coasters they work (usually ones that didn't have a lot to begin with), but I think often when it's a ride that already had good theming, the change ends up not feeling as good. Especially with Verbolten that was literally designed around it's theme, I'd be pretty surprised if the park is able to pull off a retheme that feels like an improvement (to be clear I'm comparing it to ~2012-2017 Verbolten, not current)

Also maybe it's just me, but Verbolten is pretty iconic at this point in my opinion. Same way I'm sure most people wouldn't have wanted to see LNM rethemed last year due to how iconic it was, I think Verbolten has gotta be close to Nessies fame level.

I'm with you on this. Much of the que and the station provide massive theming compared to many of the rides (keep the video playing at the desk please) and could be mismatched to any drastic redirection . I never saw the interior at opening so I don't know what I missed out on but I think partitions and perhaps tunnels with lighting could improve the experience. I also believe the three elements before the drop could be improved upon/modified for the better.

Whenever they do some renos to the building, they need to do something about that rattle after the drop. I literally don't ride bolt anymore because of it.

Not to be a jerk, but, uh, what happened to the park's good charkboard sign artist...?

That car....? That rendition of Sandra Bullock...?

Y I K E S.

I've been one to defend the chalkboard signs because they're a reasonable way to provide specific, temporary or fluid information to guests, but, uh, this one is bad enough where I'm experiencing real secondhand embarrassment.

Clearly you’ve never heard of a Volkswagen minibus with the top cut off 🤚 IMG_8786.jpeg

I was close to cussin' out some random person in the queue line for spoiling the ride experience yesterday. It was my first time ever at the park. 😮‍💨

Fun ride though!
