No idea if Verbolten related or not. But while riding Wolf today I saw several people working on these transformer things. I assume theyre for the launch or drop track of Verbolten
Its probably high voltage (think multiple kV) down to medium voltage (400-600v) transformers for that area. Really the only reason to work on those is if they were having power issues at the ride. I would guess it is more for an inspection than an issue with the ride's closure.

Did you You know that phrase was created by an ops area supervisor during testing in 2012? I'll just refer to her as "A" for privacy reasons, but apparently she came up with the phrase during testing and entertainment caught wind so they had her do the voice over for that one. That's why it's a different voice for the clear track spiel than the other spiels.

I did know that!

Now that the Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf's Revenge exists, are the OG BBW references in Verbolten going to stay or be erased in the future? I mean if the park wanted to, they can re-work the ride building to just play the "Forest" and "Lightning" scenes. Personally, I wouldn't want the old BBW references gone at all (it still kind of ties in with the new BBW) but I wouldn't blame BGW if they removed it to save money.

They will 100% keep the old BBW references. Yes, Wolf's Revenge is a spiritual successor, but Verbolten is the Wolf's actual replacement and is, in a sense, OG BBW's tribute.

Oh they will definitely rip out those footers over the Rhine and rework that last drop so no one ever thinks of the wolf again looking at Verbolten.

OK sorry about that all joking aside while I don't know anything for sure I highly doubt that they will remove any references. I mean Darkoaster got Wolf references despite Verbolten having them I know that is not quite apples to apples but I would still be shocked.

Hot take: I have absolutely zero problem with a complete reworking of the theming inside Verbolten's event building.

The Big Bad Wolf references are now duplicative with Wolf's Revenge and both the storm and spirit sequences are similar to themes featured on DarKoaster and Alpengiest. Obviously DarKoaster was the super poorly-themed, sloppily-conceptualized, theme-stealer, but now that it has been done and Verbolten is more likely to get investment sooner, overhaul Verbolten's story—the park will be better for it.

If I blindly went on verbolten(not actually blind) and went in that event building and you told me that was supposed to be a forest, id probably cry from laughing.

Im TOTALLY down for just a complete retheme.

I don't really understand the concept of a ride being a successor to another just because it references it as an easter egg in the queue or something. Maybe, Busch Gardens is fine with all of these concepts being in the same thematic universe. Aren't Verbolten's German characters a direct reference to the names Gerta and Günter in Alpengeist's station-or am I mistaken?

IMO, both The Wolf's Revenge and Verbolten reference the black forest the ride departing the German countryside and entering the forest near BBW makes sense. Verbolten could be updated on the interior to better sell the forest, but it does connect the two. It would make sense to really theme the area around Big bad (looking at you picnic area) with some structures along to buildings left and right of the path and a flat or two to be the black forest as a good many have stated.

I am interested now! What are your ideas for a retheme? Are you thinking another event in the Black Forest? Headless horseman? Witches? Nixies?
