Hello park fans.

It's been a long while since I posted on this forum. How is everyone. I had some spec questions about Verbolten that I was hoping you could answer.

1. How many yards is Verbolten's first launch?
2. How many square feet is Verbolten's building?
3. Does the ride have a system inside the building that control special effects?
4. Can ride still reach top speed if sitting in front of first launch at a standstill?

Someone like @Zachary can answer 1 and 2.

For 3; yes there's actually an enclosed control room. You can see it if you sign up for the coaster tour.

4; yes.

To clarify, if you are talking about a seperate system for the effects, yes it does, however the computer that runs it is in the main control booth. The room in the show building Jahrules is referring to is the main electrical room. It is where most of the ride's control system resides, however, there are other panels and rooms around the ride where needed, such as the maintenance bay and station.

Sometimes I sit and imagine owning my own park and getting a quote for a ride like Verbolten. So I was curious to know where most of the cost came from. If you built a bigger building around the size of 105,000 square feet, how intense could the ride be and what the cost would come to. I can just stand in random stores and picture the track layout and special effects. It's amazing to think that Verbolten's building is small. Not even the size of a Home Depot or Lowe's.

So launch 1 I take it is 50 yards?

Recorded these a couple weekends ago. Some of the lesser heard ride spiels at Bolt.
So the first one is part of 2 for adding or removing a train on the ride. The second is the clear track spiel. Note that the voice is different, as this was not the actress who voiced gerta, but rather a local supervisor who happened to say a comedic bit at the right time

Thought it was interesting when I was at BGT, it felt like basically every ride had the same guy doing the spiels. Also loved how they really overkilled it on the log flume, "now sit back, hold on tight, and prepare for a sudden sloooowdown at the bottom of the hill!"

Gertas voice will get stuck in my head if I am in the station too long "If you are not ridzing at zhis time please take sthep behind ze line, the gatez are now closing"

I believe Jack Hannah does the spiels at BGT. If not, whoever does the voiceover sounds a lot like him

Food for though; You're hypothetically given a solid budget to refurbish the theming for Verbolten. Without going full Disney on the ride, what would you do? I would:

-add some sort of thing to the spirit storyline where the car is possessed. Maybe have it "shut down" as you reach the stop, then all the stuff happens after which the headlights come back on and the car drops.

-fog machines at the bottom of the drop

-I'm sure this has been discussed before but at night do things to make it feel more sinister/spooky. Have the voice in the station telling you to put down your seatbelt be the spirit(I know this has brought up somewhere because I've seen it, probably in this forum so if someone could respond to this with the original post so I can give credit that would be greatly appreciated) and then as they dispatch have either Gerta or Gunter be like "wait! you're not supposed to be going in there at this hour! Come back!"

Honestly I don't think Verbolten needs a massive redesign of themeing. Bring back the light blocking curtains turn back up the strobes and paint a forrest seen on the outside of the building and I would be more then pleased. Also of course FIX THE DAM BRIDGE!!!

Yeah, I don't need new effects at all. I just need the park to pull out the ride's original theming documents and reimplement everything they've removed in the last decade.

Appearance-wise, obviously, priority #1 should be fixing the bridge. It's currently a horrible eyesore. Additionally though, the entire plaza and station area is lookin' ROUGH. It needs a comprehensive once-over with refreshed decals, paint, screens, speakers, etc. Again—all of the docs to do this properly exist—I know because I have them.

If I had to identify something beyond what Verbolten managed day one, it would CERTAINLY be to try to figure out ways to better deal with the floating building entry and to better hide the event building itself. Neither the building or entry façade has ever looked anywhere near as good as they should have.

Personally, what I would do is add more greenery back there, make it really feel like the Black Forest. This would also help with hiding the entry/exit points of the building. Theming wise, I would say they really just need to refresh the existing theming and make all the stuff from before actually WORK. Also would like it if they could consistently use dual dispatch. Yes I know that’s more of a staffing thing, but in any given day, it’s got the longest line in the park and dual dispatch would solve that issue.

I think the key point here is the dispatching. While Bolt is by no means the most thrilling ride in any category, tell that to the people in line who keep coming back and enjoying it so much. While there are some who despise this ride (in my opinion, completely undeservedly) you cannot argue that the public loves this thing. Which is why Busch will do nothin and run it into the ground. Since that’s most likely gonna be the case, have it run 2 stations at least.
