RE: Verbolten

Yeah, what was that about? I do seem to remember Brian Morrow saying something in an interview. I think it was something like "Be prepared for a unique twist on Verbolten this Howl-o-Scream as the black forest gets more sinister". I hope I'm not just putting words in his mouth, but I do remember hearing something about that. However, I doubt they'll make any modifications to the ride itself. It will probably just be some attraction linked to the black forest is my guess. Maybe the new house?

RE: Verbolten

If you haven't noticed, Halloween Items have been added in the building with Gerta, including pumpkins, bats, and crows. They are little tid bits added to the cases. Maybe a hint to Howl-O-Scream?

RE: Verbolten

I was there on one of the Verbolten media days, and Brian Morrow told us the ride would "change" during Howl-O-Scream. He wouldn't say anything really specific but said something to the effect of "Gerta gets very into Halloween and decorations." He made it sound like they would add or change a scene in the building too. We will see, we will see...

RE: Verbolten

I was told by a leadership team personal today that they are working on the on ride video and that yes you may see them light up but no actual testing or calibrating will begin until all 5 trains have all cameras working. No time soon she said should we expect video.

RE: Verbolten

To the person saying a poster was vadilized and torn down in the queue, the park did it on purpose.. It's for a good reason! ;)

RE: Verbolten

Before people call him crazy, think about it. I have no clue what's going on, but to be quite honest, it makes sense...

Twas me. Glad to know there is something behind it.

As for the HOS rumor. It is what I was told on media day. I have no idea how they will do it. But for all we know it is just differences in sound and timing or some lighting. Nothing huge.

RE: Verbolten

Quick question about the different "effects" inside....
We all know there are 3 differ effects....but is there any pattern to these that anyone can see? Certain cars have certain effects? Or is it just in a constant rotation (ie spirit, wolf, storm, spirit, wolf, storm?)

Also, each time I ride, I seem to notice differ things at differ times in the building....do the effects change each time for the entire building, or just near the drop track? I don't think I remember the spinning thing on the floor each time??

Also...what IS the spinning thing inside the building on the floor?

RE: Verbolten

I have not seen it the last three times i went on it. I might just be very bad at spotting it though.

RE: Verbolten

A) We don't know of any rhyme or reason as to what determines the event for that particular train.
B) We're 99% sure that the "show" is the same no matter what train. The spirit event for the blue train is the same as the spirit even for the yellow train.
C) That's supposed to recreate looking up at the moon.

Even though I was ready for it I still slammed my head on the headrest on the 2nd launch. We were in the next to last row. The sheer physics of the small dip before the launch makes your head go forward some but then suddenly the launch happens and your head slams backward. Now maybe the 2nd, 3rd, etc... times I ride I'll be extra aware and ready.

I have been a HUGE fan of all roller coasters since childhood and usually make the comment that it wasn't enough...until Saturday. The post above exactly describes my experience. The most unfortunate design choice was a free fall event prior to a launch...add to this the disorienting dark and this is a ride waiting for a problem. I have been suffering a headache and nausea since the ride. I will not ride it again and I will not recommend the ride.

Ride somewhat near the front of the train or hold your neck stiff.... I've ridden front row 6 times out of the 10 Iv'e been on it and have no problem with it. Good airtime going into the building:)
