It is my second fave just because of Intimidator 305 being airtime packed and intense and all. Otherwise It'd be #1.

i305 is an amazing coaster...but airtime packed?

I apologize for semi-derailing the thread...but no way. lol

The most ejector airtime of my life. Yes it has loads of airtime over the second hill, first hill and 3rd hill and the transitions. :dodgy:
ANYWAYS: How much longer do you think it will take for Old Yeller?

RE: Verbolten

alright guys take this to the i305 thread.

Any other Yellow Train sightings of note? And are the employees aware of it? Better yet do the maintenence people have a date for it?

This. Any other i305 posts will get the can.

Yellow has been pulled out of the barn but not made circuits as far as I know. I haven't checked with sources recently.

RE: Verbolten

First time poster here. Love the site!

I just wanted to tell my Verbolten story as it wasn't as great as many of the stories I've read here. We went early on 6/10 so that I could ride early by virtue of having a season pass. I hustled through San Marco and boarded pretty quickly thereafter, which was really nice.

That's about where things stopped being awesome for me.

Shortly after getting into the dark portion of the ride, I got a concussion. No kidding. I felt foggy-headed, dazed and headachey for the rest of the day and two days after! I've tried to recall the exact moment when it happened but all I can remember of that instant is seeing stars.

It will be a while before I brave Verbolten again :(

RE: Verbolten

^Did you happen to slam your head on the headrest at the same time as being launched? ;)
In all seriousness: I don't even understand how you can get a concussion unless you held your head way forward...

RE: Verbolten

Any idea of why Verbolten was Verbroken almost all day today? And any idea of eta for working again? I know they ran blue and green trains sometime between 4 and 9 but wasn't open before park closing. Was down for hour or so yesterday but got back up and running.

On another note. Figured out yesterday while waiting in queue there are no fans or ventilation inside the building. That was rough when it was still 90° out.

What is a concussion?

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury that is caused by a blow to the head or body, a fall, or another injury that jars or shakes the brain inside the skull. Although there may be cuts or bruises on the head or face, there may be no other visible signs of a brain injury.
Symptoms of a concussion range from mild to severe and can last for hours, days, weeks, or even months. If you notice any symptoms of a concussion, contact your doctor.

Symptoms:

Thinking and remembering
Not thinking clearly
Feeling slowed down
Not being able to concentrate
Not being able to remember new information
Physical
Headache
Fuzzy or blurry vision
Nausea and vomiting
Dizziness
Sensitivity to light or noise
Balance problems
Feeling tired or having no energy
Emotional and mood
Easily upset or angered
Sad
Nervous or anxious
More emotional
Sleep
Sleeping more than usual
Sleeping less than usual
Having a hard time falling asleep

This is what a concussion is. I think you had a bad case of blacking out.

RE: Verbolten

My sources say yellow has made full circuit testing already.

And the music heard on the web cam is the song 'The Garden of Light' which is their theme song I guess you could call it for Illuminights.

RE: Verbolten

^^ I don't think blacking out gives off side effects for two-three days unless an underlying medical condition is involved.

It could just be a mild concussion from hitting the headrest if you experienced it after you entered the building.

Then again, I'm not really a doctor so I can't say.

Exactly, blacking out is an acute condition with no other side effects due to loss of blood flow to the brain.

To me it did sound like the OP suffered symptoms of a minor concussion.

I will partly agree with your post. Blackout's severity can be directly related to blood viscosity and quantity of blood in circulation. With either low or both it can prolong a blackout and limpness of the body. With limpness her head could have done whatever and been hit rather hard to stimulate a concussion. Too many variables we do not know is what leaves it open.

Note: The above scenario is a very "perfect storm-esque" of variables, unlikely but still plausible with the right conditions.

Do the water dummies (or whatever those things are called) have any sort of mechanism to simulate and measure head and neck movement? Does the coaster industry do measurements not merely for weight in the car but head and neck movements?
Anybody know?

Not trying to be a dick or anything...

But, why is everyone obsessed with the yellow train?

For the same reason that there is a BGW Fans website in the first place, where 95% of the conversation is about the minutia of roller coasters.

My guess is no. The water dummies are basically just sitting there to give weight of a normal person. They have to way to "fix" the rode after its all been made and put together of there were shaking problems.

They do have accelerometers in them that record g forces, so maybe, but specifically head and neck? probably not

what?

I have no idea what I was typing. Wow. It doesn't even make sence. Sorry..

I think I ment to type,

They really have no way of fixing the ride after it all has been made and installed to fix the shaking problem. Like DFire.
