They really have no way of fixing the ride after it all has been made and installed to fix the shaking problem. Like DFire.

They do. But it would require a bit more testing. A larger diameter upstop would close the gap just enough to reduce some of the vertical vibration. But that is called into question with the final turn's small radius.

Why not just install spring loaded wheel mounts during the off season?

Chasis might not support it. There is a list of reason why it could or could not be done. In the end it will all boil down to cost.

RE: Verbolten

I really don't mind the rattle, but my mom didn't ride it last time because she got a headache in May from it. So I'm hoping they can at least align the wheels a little better.

RE: Verbolten

My family and I rode Verbolten for the first time this morning. We busted hump to get there around 9:30 so we wouldn't have to stand in line. Thank goodness for season passes!

First Ride: Winding our way through the line, my husband and I were very impressed with the theme. All the decorations, memorabilia, etc, is very cool! Once loaded and pulling out of the station I was thrilled to see that New Beetle since I drive one.

We rode the last car and honestly, I wasn't impressed. I didn't like the whole dark thing except the drop. My head (which I didn't have against the rest) got slammed back, causing a headache. Husband told me to keep my head against it the next go-around.

Second Ride: We rode the front car...and it was still meh. I made sure to keep my head against the rest, only to have it whipped out on a turn. WTH?

If my boys want to ride it again they're welcome to do it. I'm going to sit it out...or head over to Griffon by myself.

Am I missing something? I want to love Verbolten but...blerg!

RE: Verbolten

I rode it 3 times in a row yesterday with zero problems, I do not keep my head against the headrest just hold it straight and try to keep it stiff and after a total of 14 rides no headaches no pain just a lot of fun, no it might not be the best coaster I have ever ridden but its the most unusual one, I love it just wish it was a little longer.......

RE: Verbolten

You have to hold your head somewhat stiff on any roller coaster, my head never even touches the headrest, and not once have I gotten a headache, If you have your head all loose like a bobble head, than that might be the cause of ppl getting headaches

RE: Verbolten

I don't know what people are talking about, Verbolten is one of the smoothest rides I've ever been on! I seriously don't understand what the deal is with these people!

RE: Verbolten

You shouldn't have to brace or find a technique to avoid slamming your head back on a ride. It should be made so that you can sit there and have fun.

RE: Verbolten

Verbolten is currently down and I'm hearing that something very big might have happened. If you're at the park, contact me ASAP.

You might as well factor Alpen and Griffon's last turn out of out that. You certainly have to do that on each.

Difference is. Those are older rides and like any normal ride gets worse over the years. Bolt however is brand new and the place where people slam there heads can be changed. All they have to do is delay the launch until the train finish's the small drop.

The word is that Verbolten AND Apollo's Chariot are down right now.

RE: Verbolten

Having (finally) ridden Verbolten, I can give my opinion on the "roughness" and "head-jerking" tendencies of the ride. There really isn't anything more than some slight rumbling from the second launch and the final turns... Nothing I experienced was uncomfortable or unbearably rough; but, saying it is glass smooth is definitely a lie. I did experience some grey out in the helix, but nothing more than I would experience on any of BG's other coasters.

Overall, I think it is a relatively solid addition to their coaster collection and is definitely their most unique ride. Now, if only they could get it working properly...

Hmm. No closure mentioned on the website, FB or Twitter... Any in-park confirmation?

I saw the red train go around once on the webcam at about 2:00. As a test. Just one train. Just that once.

As far as I know, there has not been any word from the park, which hopefully means the issue isn't too serious.

RE: Verbolten

I'm here. It's closed for the day. They say they don't know about tomorrow yet. Lots of brake testing is going on in the station. Red train is in the station with all others in maintenance.
