RE: Verbolten

That picture is from a personal account. Not the BGW Facebook page. It could have some truth in it.

Already got them. Will put up when I get home. It didn't even make it halfway up.

Did you post the pictures? I'm looking forward to seeing them

Here they finally are. Not much to see. The green train is sitting mostly in the building maintenance is going in and out.

RE: Verbolten

Did you ever see it get relaunched? I would be scared to roll back there considering the drop track gets lifted back up afterwards so there is even less track behind you...

There are failsafes to prevent that.

It was re launched over an hour later. Maintence was running around looking like they were freaking out. 4 of them were in the building at one point and about 15 minute later they got it launched. It looked like they tried twice to launch it and it wouldn't go. It just lurched forward about 5 feet.

Yes but I think this was unintentional. Also, when the train rolled back it hit the launch and slowed down fast and very slowly rolled back into the building. Something defianetly went wrong. Hopefully the park learns from this and fixes the problem.

RE: Verbolten

I think everyone here I'm pretty sure has never been on a drop track considering there is only 3 in the world
*raises hand*

Whoever said something about this being a Children's ride, cuz Legoland's is, no. This is a family coaster. In fact, I'd hardly call even Legoland's a kids ride. These things have a wide potential audience. That makes them family, not kiddy. If adults can enjoy it, then it's a family coaster.

And lots of family coasters are really, really good.

I think Verbolten is going to be interesting, and fun. I don't think it's going to be on anyone's top ten list, but I do think the opportunities to entertain such a variety of riders is what more parks should be doing. It's an exciting thing to see narrative take centre stage at a non-Disney park.

I know a ride like this has to have fail-safes. But what exactly are those? More interestingly, if there is a rollback, what happens to get the guests back to the station... without having to get off the ride?

RE: Verbolten

Nothing special, but saw the Verbolten ad car just a second ago on the interstate. Pretty neat. Not so good of a photo though.
