RE: Verbolten

Let's start with what we know for a fact: 1. There was an injury. 2. The incident was not bad enought to delay testing. 3. Verbolten did valley. Now weather or not 1 and 3 are part of the same incident is what we should be debating now. I was told that they are not part of the same thing.

Did you get angry when reporters kept saying that there were almost positively multiple deaths in the plane crash in Virginia Beach when there turned out to be none? They reported on what they were able to gather. That's all we can do as well. We should be glad that it turned out to be as "minor" as it was.

I live in Va Bch and got really frustrated when they assumed and hyped up reports of things that were either untrue or radically hypothesized just to sensationalize the story. Between knowing the area and airstation from living here and having police family members respond to the scene, their was definatley sensationalized commentary from national news agencies happening. Grrrrrr.

I have not seen a retraction for the launch party that is set on the 17th. Right now, I see it as business as usual.

RE: Verbolten

As far as what the park is thinking, I would say that they basically are keeping the show going. The GP is clueless about it and as far as the GP goes they don't know anything other than its opening may 18th and thats what the park cares about most.

RE: Verbolten

It's for those that took the HHT. I don't think it's something they are advertising to the public

RE: Verbolten

I am sure they group social media followers into the GP. Plans were made and they keep going unless there is no possible way to work around it.

I don't see why it won't move forward as planned. The ride will open with four trains if they can't get the yellow train fixed by opening day and nobody will notice. May 18th is probably still the date it will officially open.

Basically, the park has kept things under wraps because it has not really altered their schedule and things should go swimmingly from now on.

In reference to the 'launch party' I am sure it is basically just ERT on Verbolten, not too much to get excited about. Probably some free food and a shirt or something like that.

On a different note, do you think we will see live characters in the queue or around Verbolten? Such as the brother and sister that own the tour business.

When and what is the "Launch Party"

Why would it be mandatory for emergency vehicles to be called if nobody is hurt?

FWIW, I had to call the police for an incident on my block on Saturday. The dispatcher specifically asked if I needed an ambulance. I said no, but they sent one anyway. :-/

But why would they place a call at all, they don't need help moving the train (normally).

^This

The thing about an emergency situation is that it's an emergency. Sure, at the time of a accident (not this one) nobody got hurt, but that could change within the time it takes for responders to get there.

RE: Verbolten

I'm telling you next weekend is the soft opening according to the girl in the operations booth at Verbolten

RE: Verbolten

So we won't get full speed testing video until next weekend? That's unfortunate. Myself and some others are trying to figure out if it's worth $35 (USD) for an hour of ERT on Verbolten when we're there.
