Has anyone heard if Verbolten will have a Flywheel Inverter like Wicked, Sky Rocket, and the Gerstlauer LSM Coasters?

Welcome to the forums Sid.

All the years that I have been around the electrical industry and amusement industry I never heard of a Flywheel Inverter being used on coasters:huh:. But, after looking into what you are talking about and I went to the rcdb.com, where I noticed what you are calling a Flywheel Inverter on the Wicked coaster at Lagoon Park. At first, I tough it was a Motor Generator Set "MG" (used to generate DC voltage) until I did more research:idea: on this and found more info on the Flywheel Inverter. From what I read, they use these inverters to help with voltage sags (drop in line voltage).

But, I don't think Busch is using this type of inverter, since they are on industrial power feed form Dominion Power. But, since I didn't go down for the Hard Hat tour, I have no idea if one of these were included in the ride package. And since they are reusing the existing power for the BBW and I don't they need one, since they can do it all electronically.

I'm the type of guy that's likes to talk about this kind of cool things.

Crap. Don't imagine there's much I can do from work, via iPhone. I'll repost later when I get home. Sorry for the brain-fart...

RE: Verbolten

A close look at those dummies I mentioned earlier shows they were shipped to Williamsburg from Tampa. Just a random fact to know.

RE: Verbolten

Did anyone notice the sign in German underneath the VW Beetle battle car that translates to-
"Wild Plant (around circular logo)
Do or do not...there is no try-Yoda
Grab an axe
-Gunter"

Hahahaha

RE: Verbolten

More foliage is going around the ride, which is great. The loss of trees really took a toll on the area - especially the bridge drop - and the new plants seem to fit perfectly with the theme.

RE: Verbolten

i went today. they added the stairs leading from the bridge to the ground. also they added the souvenir and photo signs on the buildings as well as some lights on the buildings. also the 'tower' of the inn had vines growing all over it as well as on the other buildings. you can also sorta see into the station...they have the lane poles up from what i could see...at least 2 of them. oh and the vine of the crashed car has grown quite a bit from the last time. it now streches almost to the front of the car and has leaves and a flower on it. its really coming along well. i cant wait to see it finished.

RE: Verbolten

They were doing hardcore work around the station this morning. Flat screens were installed with themed borders. Stairs are almost finished, the vines make me think toy shop in Ireland. Still looks real nice. Remember tween applying for the permit, the park said they would regrow a lot of the area since the environment is protected there.
