........omg.

No. Guests will NOT be the absolute first to ride. Anyone with any knowledge of roller coasters' openings know that the park executives and the ride's engeniers are the first to ride. It would make no sense at all to ever put the guests on the ride first. Remember Cheetah Hunt's opening? Executives rode first with the people who designed the ride. Busch has always done this and it's standard practices for other parks as well (Six Flags (KingdaKa), Cedar Fair (Millenium Force), etc). If there is an employee ride night it would be similar to an ERT.

I don't mean to call you out like that Party Rocker, but it's your "absolute" assertion that rubbed me the wrong way. :)

From what I know, the park is required to have several hours of running time with riders on the coasters other than guests. To accomplish this they use their employees. They also have to have a rediculous number of hours of non-stop running time.

When Griffon opened they set aside about 20 hours (and had to add a night or 2 because of bad weather to get the required hours). And the official employee night for Griffon was after it's grand opening.

Employees will be riding Verbolten before any guests do.

The trains are definitely on the track, but I don't think there is a definite as to where they really are on the track. They aren't in the station, so they are either in the maintenance bay or the event building. Also, I might go to the park today and see if anything is going on.

RE: Verbolten

I want to say they will add multiple webcams for Verbolten... It's says,

"Will we show the LAUNCHES? DROPS? You'll want to check back soon to see where we've put our webcam."

RE: Verbolten

To back up Carter's statement, Six Flags even has it on video of the engineers and park management / employees riding the rides before anyone else. Tatsu @ Magic Mountain was taped on the early Build it Bigger where the first riders were the team who built the ride. Green Lantern at Great Adventure went a little bit further and allowed employees (full time ones of course) to bring in I think 3 buddies at most, and they could ride for as much as they want for a span of like 12 hours, with complementary food, memorabilia and face time on TV for the advertisements.

Cedar Fair also has a similar system, Dorney Park had ride execs ride their new drop tower that was shipped to them from California back in 2010 and Cedar Point even had their engineers ride Maverick (after the barrel roll got removed) for a few hours.

I was wondering if they let you sit on the test seat in front of verbolten?

Yes, they removed the guard rails around it this past week. You can freely walk up and sit in it. However, it isn't "hook up" yet, so I doesn't lock on you. You wouldn't be able to tell if you're too big for it or not. Yet.

RE: Verbolten

The wrecked Porsche out front is a nice little touch. I am glad that that is center stage vs that other German thing.

Darn... i'm one of the one really waiting anxiously for them to hook the thing up. Gotta see if I am good to ride.

You can really start to see into the queue now. They're adding a bunch of signs and finishing touches. The theming really is amazing.
Yes, the theming is going be really amazing and it's going to be fun too.
