RE: Verbolten

^Thanks for the info. It's nice to know that they are completely ahead of schedule and will be guaranteed to open on the announced date. They can now just kick back, do a little touch-up work, and run some more tests.

RE: Verbolten

If you didn't know, the test dummies used on Verbolten are stamped with bold letters saying "Property of B&M" I am assuming these dummies came from a separate coaster manufacture rather than Zierer.

RE: Verbolten

Well I would hope they owned them. I am sure they were originally bought from B&M and are now park property.

and they are sitting in the parking lot beside the festhouse... you can see them from the train

RE: Verbolten

So it would seem that a company named Colorvision Creative is doing work on a "ride video" for the park. I don't know if this is referring to some sort of promotional material or if it's a queue video but whatever it is, it provided some very interesting digital renders of parts of the coaster. Here's what has been posted to their Twitter over the past few weeks about Verbolten:

The german Festhaus at Busch Gardens Williamsburg taking shape for its appearance in the Verbolten ride video.

3D bridge scene is beginning to look suitably distressed. We hope to drive the virtual car off it next week #Verbolten

The area outside the Black Forest is being built (digitally) for the #Verbolten ride video.

Verbolten's ride video CG car w/ new paint & lights. It'll almost be a pity to send this thing into the Black Forrest!

Just received some rough 1st person footage of test runs on #Verbolten from Busch. The ride will be terrific once completed.

And now the pictures...

RE: Verbolten

There was actually a lot going on today at Verbolten. No testing, but there was a crane putting some things in place behind the bridge (no clue what it is), people working on the wrecked car in front, people working on the car that is on the frame (the Orange themed one), people working in the station, people working on electrical boxes in the initial area of the ride, and people working on the queue. Very busy day for them, even through the light rain. I took some pictures of changes, etc. and will post them before the end of the night.

RE: Verbolten

In so far as the Black Forest pics, I don't think they can post anything about that before the ride opens. All of the pictures posted are of things the public already knows about.

For the video though, do you guys think it's going to be for online teaser purposes, or ride hype in the queue, sorta like how Griffon has the screens showing clips of on-ride video.

RE: Verbolten

Looks like the computer animation is for both the on-ride video and the in-queue advertisements for it. I'm basing this solely on the fact that Colorvision Creative recently did work for Sheikra labeled "ride video" and these were the purposes they served. It also makes sense why they were sent an early POV for the ride, so they can start figuring how they want to edit the on-ride video.

EDIT: It seems I accidentally deleted my old post that kingadam was replying to, sorry. I look forward to the pics.

RE: Verbolten

Looking back at the progression of Verbolten from the start of them tearing up the ground behind the bumper cars to what they have now has been amazing. I stopped today and just admired some of the scenery and found myself lost in amazement. They have done a superb job at creating what looks like its going to be an awesome experience and I cannot wait to get the chance to brave the black forest.

If you type www.verbolten.com, that is where it now takes you. It even has a countdown until the opening date. I really doubt that they are gonna have any delays with this being that there is a counter. It would be a shame to have to up the counter a few months....

Don't ever say Never. Things happen. I was at WDW in August in 2004. The weather was supposed to be nice with narly a thought of a hurricane rolling through. 3rd day there a hurricane rolls through with just hours of warning. 52 hours in a hotel room sucks.

things happen, hopefully they won't this time though

RE: Verbolten

Oh. Guys. Look at that. The infographic tells us there's a 90second ride time and not 3min. Huh. Go figure.

Seriously. Start listening to me please. Thanks. :)

Beat me to it! Good man. My math turned out just about right.. But but but but but but WHAT IF YOU ARE STUCK ON A BLOCK!?!?!?! It could be three minutes then!

RE: Verbolten

Who typically are the first people (employees) to ride? Maiden voyage... Engineers? VIPs? When do you suppose they'll get a ride?
