RE: Verbolten

I saw Verbolten in person for the first time today as well; those trains are beautiful! Also, on the Mach Tower operator proudly announced to my group that the official opening date would be May 18, and when asked said this was announced Friday. Maybe he's in cohorts with he Dippin Dots guy?

Edit: And now BGWFansite says the 18th wih soft openings probably starting the 11th

Just want to say that those are the same guys that said "Mach tower will open in two weeks" for three months during the summer

This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

RE: Verbolten

Well none of my sources claim that the opening date is may 18, but they did say that there is going to be an employee meeting on Wednesday, so maybe they will announce the date then

RE: Verbolten

They'll announce it when they've finished setting everything up and have thoroughly tested everything to make sure it works.

I love the look of the station, but the gap between the two buildings kinda bugs me.

They weren't doing much today, but it looks like they are just about done with theming inside the station.

2012-04-02_14-23-17_959.jpg

I really hope they do something to cover this up.

2012-04-02_14-24-15_253.jpg

I do have to say, they bridge looks really cool from a distance. Especially from that view cause it makes it look especially rickety and spooky.

2012-04-02_14-24-39_119.jpg

Looks like they have done some work with putting foliage in.

I have a feeling they are going to restore the waterfall back to its original beauty. It looks nice aesthetically, and serves as a good control of run-off.

Another view of the station.

Still nothing done with the floating footers. they do look very secure though if you look really close. They are on the old footers, so there is concrete more towards the inside of the hill, as seen in the photo.

An overview of the foliage progress.

Never really noticed the steep bank that the track curves at before the airtime hill. Lookin' great!!

A view of the completed bridge.

They cherry on top of this whole photo update... A nice panorama of the area.

RE: Verbolten

Great pictures kingdam! Not much has changed since Friday (externally at least), but for some reason I love seeing other people's pictures. :D

RE: Verbolten

It looks pretty finished now. Seeing it when you make that first turn on Loch Ness is a nice treat.

RE: Verbolten

Thanks Swift!

In so far as the bridge, I think it is as good as it is going to get. It looks amazing anyways, and is a great iconic site to see from all of the coasters in the park.

RE: Verbolten

I don't like seeing the truss on the sides of it. If they put a small covering I think it would be fine, otherwise, it looks half finished. If you want an all out themed coaster then don't short cut. Details matter.

First photo. Steel Ibeams.

RE: Verbolten

I'll see Friday what I think in person. If you are going for rickety covered wood bridge look then dont leave steel just painted brown. Disney nor uni would do that.
