RE: Verbolten

Since DarKastle and EitA are compleatly indoors they needed the AC. Only part of Verbolten will be indoors and you will be moving at a fast speed through it, so I guess there is really no need to put central Air AC in it.

RE: Verbolten

By the way, this is what BG had to say on their twitter today.
@matt__drake We've made a tribute to the Wolf with #Verbolten. You'll have to come experience it to find out where and how!
Apparently they are using Verbolten as a tribute to BBW

I think they are using Verbolden as a tribune to BBW as well and with touch advertising the ride on the side. I am wondering if they did the same thing on their Facebook page.

RE: Verbolten

When was testing supposed to start?

EDIT: So I put together an satellite image comparison of Big Bad Wolf to Verbolten. From what I understand, the image I attached shows how the track layouts are very similar. As you can see, everything outside the building is the same path, sorta; it will vary a bit, but it sure is close.

Blue = Verbolten
Red = Big Bad Wolf

RE: Verbolten

sorry if this has been discussed before but it would be cool if they rebuilt those houses to cover up the hideous green building haha.

RE: Verbolten

Or at least make it look like they rebuilt a village (kinda like what they did in the festhouse)

idk... Assuming a may opening, then early April or late march... Just to have room for delays

RE: Verbolten

Then why wait to open in may? Cheetah Hunt took a matter of weeks, not months to test... I know that this ride is not cheetah hunt, but still, 4 months to test!? This better be worth it... Lol

RE: Verbolten

Keep in mind that testing is a very broad term when it comes to roller coasters. Testing doesn't just include running through the ride cycles, it includes programming the ride's entire computer, synchronizing special effects in the event building, doing numerous checks on various ride components like the brakes and restraints.

Verbolten will have to be cleared through Zierer with their own checklists, cleared through the corporate maintenance department, cleared by the park's maintenance department, and then through the park's operations department.

RE: Verbolten

^^Even still, I would think that at most it may take a month or so to test, if they are working towards a vigorous schedule. 4 months still seems a bit odd.

EDIT: How big is the event building compared to other large building in the park? Just curious.

Every new ride goes through that... Except those sketchy Chinese rides (and maybe six flags rides too! Lol... You can tell I have a bias against SF)

RE: Verbolten

Yeah, I know that, but still 4 months? Still seems a bit long, I still say a month to two months at most should be fine for testing and syncing the effects to the ride.

RE: Verbolten

Put it this way, would you rather the park have more than enough time to test the ride, or just enough? Keep in mind that Cheetah Hunt's opening day had many problems, and it was down until late afternoon.

RE: Verbolten

It also depends on how it is if there doing everything by timing or if they will activated by sensors. it would be easier to do sensors. but more than likely will be done by timing. either way it will only take at most a week to program the event room. If that actually. for the actual ride itselfs will take about a week but that should already be done. They test everything when they send the train around the track. They test to make sure there programming works and make changes from there. im not sure if they test theming and the ride all at once or the ride then theming but they will make sure there is no delays adjust the timing and such. all of this is done from the time the first train is sent around the track. im pretty sure the first test run of a coaster is more of will it make it around the track or not.

It also needs to be state-inspected and certified :)
