If it's 52° then it'll be fine. I wouldn't call it steep though. Seems like it could be similar to Expedition Everest drop out of the mountain which is about 80' tall and banks to the left as it bottoms out. I believe I read somehwere that EE's drop angle was around 50°.

~32*/35* for EE. Splash Mountain is 52*

Big part of why the height and angles are what they are?

Confirmed that Imagineers are trolling their fans.

RE: Verbolten

I have some big new as far as Verbolten goes. I noticed some construction workers had opened one of the heavy duty locked storage unit things. A look inside reveals no trains. But this was only inside of one of them. Plus, you can find more Verbolten stuff hidden over next to Le Scoot behind Alpengeist, next to the train station in a back area. There was another heavy duty locked storage unit thing over there too. Could they just be for storing simple construction stuff or do they all have something different in them?

RE: Verbolten

Since, I use to work in construction (electrical) before doing maintenance. These boxes or know as shipping containers, which can hold both construction supplies or parts for the ride itself (control consoles, gates, and breaks).

Since, they are close to the station, I think it may both supplies for the like nuts and bolts for the rest of the track and station parts like the main control console.

Not trying to be ignorant, but where is the big news in here?

RE: Verbolten

So....so far we've got from the station to the event building track done, inside the event building done, a little before the bridge to the bottom of the drop done. All that is left as far as track goes is directly after leaving the event building, and then after the drop to the station. Correct?

Any chance that there will be a little 'twist' thrown in to the layout? Ive heard about some fake tree being involved (and Im not referring to the special effects that will be painted onto the velour). I'm talking about a real (fake) tree. Anyone else remember something like that?

RE: Verbolten

There was some suggestions of a fake tree outside the building, but everything points to the theming being restricted to inside the building.

I hope that they do it the right way if a faux tree appears. Concrete and steel!

RE: Verbolten

I was at the park today (more accurately, 'tonight') but it was too dark for any photo taking. The drop looks very impressive, smooth, and fun. They're well on their way with landscaping the area near the end of the circuit, as well. With no leaves on the trees, it was possible to see all the way to the event building from the Rhine Bridge. Lights were on inside the building (begging the question- were they still working on the interior as late as 6pm?), which illuminated the steel frame for the sloping tunnel around the initial launch section.

It really is weird not being able to see the meat of the ride (the indoor helixes and drop), when I know exactly how it'll play out because i HAVE seen it before. I can only imagine the curiosity of the GP who are totally clueless as to what will go on inside that big green box :D

As, I stated before. They are more in likely working some overtime so they can meet the deadline.

RE: Verbolten

At night you can see lights on inside the event building. I think they just leave them on for now during construction. Like when a new house is being built, they leave on a few lights each night inside the house, most of the time in the beginning of construction.
