Hmmm...I found Oblivion kinda boring. The drop into the ground was cool but to me it felt like the pullout happened too fast. And then the ride was over in seconds. Glad I didn't wait over 15 minutes for it.

I like Alton Towers though. Nemesis is insanely amazing and so worth a trip to the UK just for this one ride!

...I think some people are going to be surprised how well it appeases thrill-seekers as well as families, actually.

A good family coaster appeases everyone. That's one of the things that people rave about with Dragon's Fury. Never have I known another ride impress kids and adults so equally. Kids come off feeling like they've conquered a big coaster and adults come off laughing with surprise.

I'm always confused when BGW fans talk about their coasters as being for thrill seekers. BGW doesn't have a single proper thrill coaster, because it's a family park. Griffon, Alpengeist, Apollo... Not thrilling, in the slightest. Amazing rides, yes... but not thrilling. For some reason, Sheikra and Oblivion even more so are ten times as thrilling as Griffon. Alpengeist's long drawn out inversions are incredibly tame compared to say, the Batman coasters. Apollo is my favourite of the B&M megacoasters, but ALL the B&M megacoasters are tame. Their height restrictions and the scale of them are the only intimidating factors. In fact, I bet (though I didn't get to ride it) BBW was the most scary and intense ride there. If you want thrills, go to KD. I mean come on, BGW even bought a tame drop tower... The world's scariest ride type.

I sincerely agree that Verbolten will be capable of being a great ride for many age groups, even adults. I must say that I find most, if not all of BG's coaster's thrilling (especially in the back seat). I guess one's definition of thrilling is very different, but having ridden numerous B&M coaster's here and abroad, assessing BG's coasters as "not thrilling in the slightest" seems a bit of a stretch.

BBW was certainly thrilling, but probably not THE most scary/intense at the park during its last few years, due to the custom design, inversions and height of its inverted and diving counterparts from B&M installed over the years.

Am I the only one here who finds Grover "thrilling?" :p

BBW was a family coaster. Verbolten is replacing BBW. So Verbolten is going to be a family coaster. The park is filling a gap in their collection, and isn't looking to appease thrill seekers, but families.

This.

Seriously, I can't believe people are still arguing this point. If you want TTD moved to BGW, start a thread named "I Want TTD Moved to BGW" then you and anyone else who thinks this is a good idea can talk about it all you want there instead of spamming up the Verbolten thread.

Swift, I've already tried a creating a thread called "Unmelt the Steel of Drachen Fire and Rebuild it Instead of this Verbolten Crap," but I was endlessly heckled. If anyone suceeds in the TTD @ BGW thread after my failed attempts, I'm calling foul. :p

Only if I put my hands up. I swear I could almost touch the track when you go under it.

You obviously don't have any idea what you actually have to do around here to get yourself banned. :p

True statement, I value my hands/arms.

Verbolten's event building will likely have quite a lot going on, hands inside the train is probably a good idea, eh?

RE: Verbolten

Speaking of Grover, please don't call verbolten a "family coaster". IMO, a family coaster is something like grover, a ride small children mainly ride, but adults can squeeze into, too. RCDB also refers to grover as a family coaster. Heck, a Zamperla Mini mouse
is considered "family" (and they're ridiculous). Verbolten will be a mid-level thrill coaster. Let's leave it at that ;)

BTW, Grover DOES have some zip to it. (And I'm NOT being sarcastic!)

RCBD starting to get more pictures for the ride. 2 shots of ride construction

RE: Verbolten

OK.....Think about this for a moment......

Just because a roller coaster has a medium thrill to it, and the theme may be a little weird. I think they are trying to bring two rides back; big bad wolf and the Le Mans Track (automobile Track) with a modern twist. Over all I can expect from past attractions that this will be an awesome ride, and this is just what they need and I know how you feel about big bad wolf, it was my first roller coaster to, and Busch gardens remains and will forever remain my favorite park. Busch Gardens knows what we expect and I promise they will for-fill it, they just will. They are the top of line, and have reached all there past goals. I know they'll reach this one, I just know.

They can do it trust them :D

RE: Verbolten

^Le Mans has nothing to do with Verbolten as that ride was themed to early French cars. The Le Mans vehicles were designed to look like the old De Dion-Bouton electric cars.

RE: Verbolten

^.......still they are cars and it would make scence if the ride was themed to include past rides they've demolished, amuse fans, you get my point. :p

RE: Verbolten

^They are already doing an homage to BBW with the Rhine drop. It doesn't need to do any other tributes to past rides, especially ones that were themed in a totally different secton of the park.

I'd like to see something referencing the Wolf in the ride's theming. Not just copying the footprint.

I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but the QR code in the picture on RCDB for Verbolten is a brand new link to a new video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDkdEbWVpbk&sns=em

I think there will be references to BBW. I mean just read some of the things on the proposed plans: "Spirit of Forest Cut Drop", "Spirit Face", and "Firey Eyes" seem like they could be references. Lets just hope that the spirit of the forest is the long gone, but still haunting, BBW.

Out of all you said I agree with 1 thing...I think this attraction will actually turn out pretty solid...which is more than you can say for most new Busch attractions lately.

The Rhine drop is enough. This new ride doesn't need anymore reminders of the great Arrow suspended that once stood there. It's gone, so let it be. It's time to usher in a new era of ride with a new story board.

The blueprints they show in that video look a little familiar... ;)

Added to the first post.

I have mixed feelings about the Rhine drop. Sure, it's great they're bringing that feature back but another part of me thinks they're taking what made the Wolf unique and just copying it... like they're trying to upstage it.

RE: Verbolten

Well at least they're doing something to honor BBW. I still say its more than enough. Considering all the coasters they've removed from the park since they first opened BBW will be the only one that has an homage to it. BBW's drop was the most epic part of the ride and Verbolten's drop will help preserve it's memory. Whether it'll be better remains to be seen.
