RE: Verbolten

By the way, who wants to volunteer to take the pictures for the official update this week? I won't be in town so it won't be me.

RE: Verbolten

Yeah. Ok, didn't know if you had any details on the theming inside the building. I noticed a while ago that there were things such as "spirit of forest" and "firey eyes" on this image. The "firey eyes" seemed to me like it was a reference.

RE: Verbolten

Just thought an obvious reference would be nice. It would be neat to have the image of the sign of BBW in the building somewhere like the LED image of Nessie used to be at the end of the tunnel for LNM.

RE: Verbolten

You might as well ask for BBW back... lol... Actually before BBW was taken down, It was on the top of my list of which coaster to replace... it sounds bad but at least it wasn't AC or Griffon!

RE: Verbolten

The funny thing is I wasn't really a huge fan of BBW, it's just that I think it would be neat for there to be an obvious reference.

RE: Verbolten

Yeah... it would be cool, but i think people would ask "Isn't this a new ride? Not some recreation with a modern twist" (After all, I would guess that over half of that ride shares the same footprint of BBW)

RE: Verbolten

I honestly would have preferred that the layout be different (kept the rhine river drop the same) and just had a reference. That's just me though

RE: Verbolten

I am actually okay without there being any obvious references to BBW in Verbolten. What's done is done, and making references to a wolf-themed ride in an autobahn themed creation doesn't mix well in my opinion. It would be like having references to the spirit of Le Mans in Griffon, or the legacy of the Maus in Darkastle. Plus, many younger coaster riders, of which this ride will appeal, aren't going to "get" any BBW references if they were too young to have ridden it, or aren't exceedingly detail-oriented coaster enthusiasts like us. :D

The only argument I have against that is the fact that its themed around the "Black Forest." Aren't there wolves in the backwoods of Germany? (Obviouly there are if they had BBW in the Germany section of the park)

RE: Verbolten

Homages to the Kong attraction can be found in several areas within the Mummy attraction, including a golden statue of King Kong in the second scene of the ride.

Exactly!

The Rhine Drop is following the same path at the BBW. For many that alone will have a nostalgic feel to it. That is way more than enough reference of the former ride that one stood in that location. Seeing any obvious references to BBW in the Verbolten queue or immediate ride area would seem so random and so out of place. BBW is gone and it's time for the park to usher in a new breed of ride!

Coulda said it better! I'm so tired of hearing about BBW in this thread.

BG Facebook: "Happy Friday, fans. Be sure to stop by the Verbolten fence this weekend to scan our QR code for the latest coaster update."

If somebody could get the link, that would be awesome.
