RE: Verbolten

The park should invert the hours from 11 am to 7pm and make it 7am to 11pm. OR they can pull a cedar point and leave the cam on 24/7.

RE: Verbolten

On Saturday nights they use to do it 24/7 with Mach Tower. I wish they would leave the Verbolten webcam on at least the length of park hours or 24/7..

Am I the only one that has never noticed the vibrating?

Unless it is car specific, I think you've got to be the only one that has never noticed it. I've been reading everyone's posts on this topic and finally got to ride on the 4th. We rode in the Blue Car. Coming out of station I didn't notice anything but a few times in the building I felt some "vibrating". But the worse part was the dip and launch out of the building.

Even though I was ready for it I still slammed my head on the headrest on the 2nd launch. We were in the next to last row. The sheer physics of the small dip before the launch makes your head go forward some but then suddenly the launch happens and your head slams backward. Now maybe the 2nd, 3rd, etc... times I ride I'll be extra aware and ready.

And the run up to the bridge was where I felt the worst vibrating. It wasn't a body shaking type vibration, it was one of those that jars your insides. Like afterwards your head/teeth hurt. Hope that makes sense. I mean at some points it felt like a wooden coaster to me. Someone up here once said it felt like the wheels weren't smooth, that's what I imagine this feeling like.

I obviously need to ride it a few more times, I guess the first time you ride anything you are likely to get tossed around because you are caught off guard by literally everything. Want to pay better attention in the building as well, I feel like I missed a lot in there.

My wife had ridden it before and got off and said "that was rougher than I remember before". I hadn't mentioned anything about what people were saying about it being rough.
I've sat in every row, of just about every car. Except yellow :p and never noticed it, maybe it's cuz I was to into the ride to notice its flaws? Idk, I'll try and pay attention to it next time!

RE: Verbolten

From what I saw, yesterday verbolten was open all day. I could be wrong but that's just what I saw.

I saw it break down three different times in the latter part of the evening (4 pm - 7 pm)

My understanding is that the ride stops operating every once in a while because wildlife (deer, etc.) is spotted near the end of the track. Someone is sent out to scare them away before they allow the next car to go. The park doesn't want another Fabio experience...

There is a reason for the ride restricted fences

RE: Verbolten

Since people have a problem with their heads hitting the headrests...

In order to ride a launched coaster, all you need to do is keep your head from slamming into the headrests during launches (keeping your head back in the launch).

I usually keep my head back against the headrest on the first launch and on the second launch I either keep my head close to the headrest or stiffen my neck. You can also force your head back against it (you will get a kick forward, but as long as your head stays back, the worst that will happen is your head will tap the headrest a few times).

During the indoor portions/river drop, I just move my body with the coaster (no need to keep your head against the headrest the entire time) By following that, I've had enjoyable rides on KD's launchers and on Cheetah Hunt.

As for roughness, the ride just has a noticeable rattle. You will most definitely feel it the further back you sit, but you'll really only notice it in the first turnaround and on the last few turns. You're moving too fast and focusing too much on the special effects to notice anything in the building/down the drop.

That being said, the back row is definitely the place to sit if you want some nice floater air right after the launch/going down the drop and more aggressive-feeling turns.

I have been told deer have been able to get on portions of the track previously. I personally think dodging deer on Verbolten goes with the theme, but if they insist on protecti the wild life, I think they will need better fences.

I know the first time I road it in May I watched the trains fly by deer at the bottom of the track. It didn't scare them. But the track was like 10 ft above them so what's the big deal?

RE: Verbolten

1:15, Verbolten was verbroken, but empty trains are being cycled now

Scratch that... 1:22, It is broken, they were just able to get the guests off the ride first... ps, you can hear the train whistle now since the sound effects are turned off

What's the big deal?!

Don't underestimate deer. Not only are deer responsible for 2 out of 3 deaths in the state of Virginia, but they also have the ability to jump 50 ft in the air and have been known to bend steel with their antlers. In fact, what Swiftman and the rest of staff here won't tell you is that the accident in the event building is a result of a panic-stricken deer getting stuck inside the event building. They snapped the cable lifting the train causing the crash. Deer are also smart, every time somebody hits a deer, it's because the deer is trying to carjack the person who hit them. However, the combustion engines mess up the radar the deer use to calculate the speed of their prey. Having to stop the ride to try to clear the deer is necessary to prevent countless lives from being lost.
