RE: Verbolten

when the line is THAT short, you might as well just sit there and marathon it.

Glad to see Verbolten doesn't suffer from capacity issues :D.

The line was actually pretty long - distance wise. But it really moved well, and the theming was so cool that at times I'd hoped it would slow down so I could check out some of the props and art on the walls.

Here are a few observations from my two trips (front and back rows).

- The inside was better than I'd expected it to be - from the povs I've seen. There's a nice little drop towards the entrance that gave me a little air - from the back row. I'ts a small space but the curves are surprisingly smooth.

- The drop track is FUN! We all know it's coming - but at least from an expectations stand point - this drop is better than Mach Tower's - imho.

- The launches are (at least) as fun as they look in the povs.

- The Rhine River drop is bitter sweet. As fun as it would be to not brake in the bridge and have a little air time, I believe the braking is an intentional nod to BBW. It was originally a nice slow, scenic drop. And Verbolten really replicates it perfectly.

Nice work BGW! Keep up the good work! :D

Nice vid. Nice to see the entertainment talent involved in entertainment roles other than their usual jobs.

I think literally every performer in the park was involved. It was awesome to really get to have a long talk with a lot of them. They all seem so genuinely nice and seemed like they were having a blast. It's seems like about half of them were cut loose about halfway through and were allowed to change into regular clothes and join the party. Very cool.

EDIT: Referencing the VIP party last night.

Also the posted wait time was 1 hour at the entrance but it only took 35 minutes with four trains running (yellow is still down).

Wow. Be curious to hear details from others on wait times. I was there early this morning, but had to leave before the ceremony. Looked like the park was going to be packed today though. Anybody have any comment on how long the line got? Out of the queue?

When I first got there this morning I headed straight to Oktoberfest thru San Marco and the line was already backed up to Ristorante Della Piazza. This was around 10:30 a.m. I decided to wait it out and it actually moved very fast. I thought it would be a 2 hour wait minimum but i got on in under an hour (I timed it at 56:00 to be exact). Shortly after that the line eased up a ton and was just barely spilling out of the entrance.

The line will move even faster with 5 trains. There were times when the back loading platform was empty for about 30 seconds. They need up hurry up and get this fixed!!

Riding last week that seem to be the one I got the most out of the three themes.

RE: Verbolten

Shafor,

Here's the line around 11 a.m. sequestered down the Oktoberfest/San Marco Bridge. I wish I could've gotten more of the line in the pic but it was still at least half way down the bridge at that time.

Thank God it didn't stay that long but the park wasn't too crowded. Tomorrow is gonna be a nightmare!

RE: Verbolten

For anyone who doesn't know...

Two weeks ago when the gift shop opened, we saw these shirts. Someone posted that the image on the shirts was a direct copy-and-paste job from this movie poster which depicts Sandra Bullock's face made out of trees. Furthermore, the same image is also used for the "Spirit of the Black Forest" ending on Verbolten. As of this weekend, all of the shirts have been removed from sale. This pretty much confirms that the park didn't have permission to use that image. How long will Sandra Bullock's copyright infringing face haunt the Black Forest? Good question.
