Does anyone know if there will be soft openings this weekend?

The park will not announce it but it is very possible.

They briefly opened Griffon to the public on Sunday May 13, 2007 during the late afternoon park hours. This was the Sunday before media day which was held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007. Now keep in mind they did this with the park being fairly empty. They have Cobra Starship playing this Sunday and they might draw a bit of a crowd.

Does anyone know if there is going to be a gate at the end of the bridge that swings out or anything to that effect? The concept art in all of the ads suggest that, and I noticed Brian (in InPark Magazine's interview) mentioned "Verbolten crashing through an old wooden bridge and dropping down to the river." This might have been brought up before, but I was just wondering being that many things point to it.

Isn't that... Illegal?

Not if they received permission from the company that made the movie and the artist who made the poster.

RE: Verbolten

If you look at the T-shirt, there are areas on the T-shirt where text from the poster should be (Sandra Bullock's name for example) and there are parts on the t-shirt where the image extends beyond what is shown on the poster. The only way to get around this would have been to edit out the name and recreate the portion of the image behind the text and create the extension of the original image (unlikely), or, to get the original image from the original creator (without the cropping for the poster and the text) and use that (much more likely).

Or pay some local art student $100 to create an original image...just sayin' ;)

In all seriousness, how do we know the image from the original poster isn't just stock art? They could both have pulled from the same source.

If they wanted to have a shirt that looked like that, they could have at least made it relevant to the ride. Maybe make the image look like a wolf or something. It looks like they took the easy way out, and now it doesn't even make sense in relation to the ride.

The face represents the life of The Black Forest? Seems to have meaning to me. Could have been a bit more sinister, though.

It is relevant, you'll see soon enough.

Sinister..., that's more what I meant. The face just seems to be... well bored or complacent?, not sure if that's the right word. Maybe after riding it will make more sense?

RE: Verbolten

I really hope they have a soft opening this weekend. It only makes sense since this weekend is the only time they are open between now and the big day. They need to work with a real crowd before (possibly) embarassing themselves at the grand opening/VIP event.

My mother is coming down this weekend for the holiday. This will be the only chance she has for the next several months. It would be such a great mother's day present from Busch.

RE: Verbolten

I just heard from a team member that the scenes inside the event buiding change. Especially at the drop track.
