RE: Verbolten

Information I learned today from two sources:

1. Employee ride night is Wednesday (obviously) and it was in fact going to be last Thursday originally. (Even though we already know this)

2. The park is going to hold a "Friends and Family Night" event for Verbolten before it opens. This is basically an event where full and part-time employees can each bring two guests to ride Verbolten for a few hours. The expected attendance is 3,000 people.

3. On the note of the friends and family night's expected attendance, the park aims to have Verbolten running at 1,400 riders per hour on any given day. This should be right due to the fact that Griffon, on a good day with 3 cars running, serves roughly 1,200 riders per hour. The speculated 2,400 riders per hour is false because you would have to have 40 guest leaving the station per minute. That is impossible being that the cars only hold 16 guests and leave the station roughly every 30 seconds to a minute.

Hopefully this info is helpful.

Don't know if this a rehash but the estimated ride capacity is 2400 persons/hour ( though they told me it will never reach this amount as that accounts for everything going perfectly).

Not to get all on your case about it, but I did say it was based on everything going perfect. We all know that would never happen.

I know, I was going to put on there that I did not mean to bash you in any way. I respect ya :p I just THINK that even if everything was running perfectly it still would be near impossible. Griffon averages 1,200 and Alpie averages 1,100 one of my extremely reliable sources informed me.

Understand and agreed. Not to get too much into the minutia, but the ride mechanic was factoring in additional elements (read: The General Public) that are not ride related, and will most likely be uncontrolable. For example, I have heard you can tell a person to wear their glasses over their eyes and not have any loose item or flip flops on Mach Tower 5x and they still won't get the message.

On www.Verbolten.com it had a big page with all kinds of art pictures and info and it showed all the color and designs on the trains. Try looking there.

Except concept art is just that...a concept, not the final product.

Never said it was. Stating that I like the concept art was simply my opinion, not a cry for clarification on what it represents.

Very helpful. Any idea what night Friends & Family night will be. Will it be May 17 along with the VIP winners?

So from what I have read, BGW will have Media Day the morning of May 17 and the VIP event that evening with the opening to the GP on May 18.

Any employees looking for friends or distant family members?

Media Day is the morning of Wednesday May 16th (5 am - 2 pm)
VIP Event is the evening of Thursday May 17th (5:30 pm - 9:30 pm)
Grand Opening Day is Friday May 18th

I was fortunate enough to be one of the winners of the VIP Event contest and will be happy to post a report/photos on Thursday night after the event for anyone interested.

RE: Verbolten

I don't believe friends and family night will be during the VIP night because you have to be 18 and over I believe for the VIP night. It says adults only on the invitation.

I would doubt it... the weather is not going to be good tomorrow for testing and we are running out of operating days until may 18... I also know that they have employee riding on thursday... probably because they are expecting to cancel tomorrows testing due to severe weather
