RE: Verbolten

It has to be the bridge, from what the leaked plans said (that have been removed) there was nothing that indicated any other special effects or surprises after the bridge. It is supposed to be bridge with special effects, then drop, then turn, turn again, bunny hop, and turn into station.

Anyone think they covered up those huge ugly footers at the end of the drop yet? I am still hoping for maybe some plaster work to be done to transform them into big rocks.

So on another Verbolten forum, someone posted a video of an engineer doing an interview about several upcoming Busch attractions. One of the rides he mentions is Verbolten. He made one interesting comment that I want to share with you guys.

He said "...and it has some very interesting endings."

Is he referring to the covered bridge before the drop into the Rhine? Or something else?

Theres a subject for us to discuss...
Do you have a link to this forum so we all can see it? Because, I went to my other forum "coaster crew network" that has an official topic for Verbolden and didn't see it, that doesn't mean it wasn't posted earlier since I don't go to that site as often as this one.

If this person that you are talking about hinting that the bridge not having any theming or being built, it doesn't mean that they won't need the footers. What I mean is that they, still need to have access to the block break catwalk and this also means if they want to build or not build the theming they can, since the structure will be already there.

While looking for that info, I noticed that one of the forum members started a thread on when will Verbolden open up. This person (thread starter) stated that it will open on Memorial Day with soft opening before that, with testing to begin sometime in March. Could this mean we will have an interesting Pass Member Preview day if they are testing the trains on that day.

RE: Verbolten

I think he was referring to the drop track at the end of the event building, that statement didn't really come across me as the end of the ride, but more end of that part of the ride. I like how he says that the trains are very sexy. It surely will be something to look forward to.

RE: Verbolten

I assume there will be projector screens throughout the event building, like at the drop track. Maybe each train has a different story?

RE: Verbolten

I like the way that sounds.. I would imagine that being very expensive though. But it would keep people coming back for more.

RE: Verbolten

Busch has already lost enough money and is already running a little slow on some parts with this ride since its there first ride that has a launch and the first ride in the u.s. to have a drop track. The least thing they were going to worry about is getting a different theme per train. Don't except anything super special like that to happen. I'm sure knowing the park that they have hit some delay/ problem.

What are you talking about? Where is this missing money? The ride hasn't even opened yet and you think it is sucking already? Apparently you have been lost, the excitement and hype over this coaster among the general public alone (the part that had commented on BGW's Facebook) is amped up for this ride. They are dying to ride it now!

What delay are you talking about? Everything is going according to their plan, as far as anyone knows. A tight schedule was given with completion in April. They just finished the track a month ago, they have half their trains now, they are just running along smoothly. There is no indication of any slowed progress.

The park has spent $50 MILLION on this ride alone, I would not be surprised if each train had it's own story. After all, in a video Larry said when you step into each train you get a new experience each time. Or something really close along those lines.

Please do not judge how much money the park lost from a ride that hasn't even opened yet. Don't judge what themeing has been put into it. Don't judge about delays if there is no indication that there have been.

RE: Verbolten

I did want to point out one thing that bothers me most.

What do you mean, "knowing the park"? Last time I checked the park has near clean record of getting rides opened on time without delay (except Mach Tower). I am sure we all know by now that Mach Tower was ruined from the start when the parts were made late. That and it's rushed build. Whereas with Verbolten, there isn't any issue like that, or none that anyone can predict or tell.

My overall point is, you seem to be condemning this ride before it opens and following the Mach Tower bandwagon of people who think the people who build the coaster will be an epic fail like Mach Tower did and open late. Don't trash a ride before it's opened and don't compare one ride to another.

He probably meant this video posted to TPR.

Yep thats the video Im referring to. I dunno if hes referring to the end of the event building or the end of the ride.

Interesting theory on each train having a unique experience inside the event building though, guys....

They've already hit a major delay- Verbolten was supposed to open with the park this season. It's not.

Secondly, we're enthusiasts- by our very nature we're often critical of the park. Saying that we shouldn't be comparing an upcoming ride to an existing ride is, to be frank, quite ridiculous. You realize BGW made a ton of comparisons between the Big Bad Wolf and Verbolten, right? Also, history often has a way of repeating itself. The similarities between Mach Tower and Verbolten are hard to ignore. I'm not saying the ride will be anything less than amazing (and I don't think Evan did either) but I am saying that the park made some decisions that I wouldn't have chosen.

Not doubting your knowledge, but how do you know? To my knowledge, the park did not say a time estimate for opening until recently... I thought all of this "opening with the park" was our speculation, not in busch's official press release

I'm completely confused by the direction of this thread now....it's like something happened to delay the project but I don't see anyone talking about it. Has something happened?

What similarities between Mach and Verbolten are you talking about?

Pass member weekend when they announced the ride, they said it would open with the park.

RE: Verbolten

At least the proposed schedule that Zoomy had put out had an opening date of march 2012. Now, that was preliminary, prior to awarding the contract, if I remember. It's definitely possible, that after construction began, they decided against such a rushed schedule, but no one really knows, unless of course you're one of the guys in the back room making those decisions. I doubt they're going to share with the public a specific date, considering the Mach Tower fiasco.
